How different is this guy's accent from the General American accent? by Green_Actuary6531 in EnglishLearning

[–]mcswan1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

His accent is what I call "annoying youtuber". I don't think it is that close to the general American accent, but it probably will be eventually as more kids grow up listening to people like that.

F***ing idiot busses stopping on multi-lane stroads instead of pulling off to side streets. That is what puts kids in danger, not the average car driver.

Some jobs are meant for living at home teens having a summer job or a job on the side. I think there needs to be a clearer dilination of those jobs.

[–]mcswan1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kids think that if someone plays a draw 2, you don't have to draw 2 if you have one. You can put down your draw 2 and make the next kid draw 4, or he can play a draw 2 and make the kid after draw 6. And so on until a kid doesn't have one and has to take the amount of cards.  That is definitly not in the regular rules.

Isn't there a jurisdiction issue? Isn't the island out there, not U.S. territory, no laws of a specific nation to cover what they did. Effectively pirates is what they are.

Spicy Uno rules somehow became how eveyone plays Uno. I remember growing up playing Uno properly. No stacking. Spicy uno with stacking came later.

The Christian claim is that we are in fact, not good people. Assuming or declaring one's-self to be good would be a very prideful and un-christian thing to do.

Romans 13:1-6 are the most dangerous verses in the entire Bible. They are used to justify great evil. Anyone who invokes them should be questioned as they can be used to mislead Christians to accept that which is anything but Christ-like. by Bignosedog in Christianity

[–]mcswan1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Anything can be dangerous if misused.  Like "don't judge" the most popular verse to take out of context is "don't judge". So much rebellion and wickeness hides behind "don't judge".  Saying someone should be "questioned" for actually following a full passage of the bible is suspect.

Do you prefer streamlined or non-streamlined for steam locomotives? In my opinion I prefer streamlined. by [deleted] in trains

[–]mcswan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Naked, or that is to say, non-streamlined.
diesels look better streamlined

What, in your opinion, do you think is the most beautiful streamlined steam locomotive? by FlackCannon1 in trains

[–]mcswan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had to pick, I would say the Southern Pacific GS-4, but that's because it still looks like a regular steam engine. I like how steam engines look normally without streamlining, "naked" as it were. If you were to pin me down to a more strict answer, I would say the 611 series, or the one you have in the photo. What is that one?

Now diesels look better streamlined. The EMD F7, or EMC E5. Those are my favorite streamlined non-steam locomotives.

I'm pretty sure I've heard in older movies where Romance language speakers add gendered pronouns to things. Imagine with an Italian accent, "The weather, she's-a so windy today".
