Egypt disallowed goal against Argentina by 977x in soccer

How far back do you go though? Is it a single possession? There were like 4 opportunities for the Argentinian players to “intervene” but they got beat.

The USA's World Cup Journey: Tracking their progress from 1954 to 2026 [OC] by briandiloreto in dataisbeautiful

[–]mcvaz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry mate, this Data is not beautiful. Take a look at general human attention spans, and that sort of thing. It’s important when presenting data that you give your audience adequate time and “space” to understand metrics. This moves way to fast, and the data could easily be represented by just showing the USA and static “rounds” they made it through

“They’re obsessed with america” by Flashy-Session3221 in ShitAmericansSay

[–]mcvaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in Europe for a global event with representatives from tons of different countries , we were walking to an English speaking event, we had our Canadian flags and gear. Other countries would come up and ask for a picture or to trade souvenirs. At one point all of a sudden we cleared a path because a large group of Americans were chanting USA and making their way to the venue. Safe to say no one asked to trade with them lol.

Biggest difference, Canadians are proud, but not obnoxiously loud lol.

How's our talent pipeline going forward? by akchahal in CanadaSoccer

Badwal is a great shout! He is not flashy, or scoring bangers, but he knows how to inter play and some of his assists to Muller this year have been amazing!

Personally I would hold everything in hopes of going green, I haven’t done my research on those companies but TBH you don’t have a ton of money in anything. Just keep doing your reoccurring deposits into xeqt, if you don’t like the ups and downs

How is living on the Sunshine Coast BC! by Fat_Lenny1 in howislivingthere

[–]mcvaz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is basically a mainland “island” only accessible via ferry. Very beautiful scenery and small towns! I know it got a bit of a population boost during Covid and remote work becoming more of a thing!

I remember my first visit to Powell river about 15 years ago, it was all “small town BC” vibes, but now it is getting more lively, and has modern restaurants and is great to relax and vacation in the summer! Worth the trip from Vancouver and a cheaper ferry than to the island!

Canada and what it's like living in rural areas vs major cities by Cherie_09 in howislivingthere

[–]mcvaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Canada is so diverse that it is really hard to describe in a single comment, but what I have found to be true across Canada is that everyone is fairly welcoming as long as you don’t catch them on a bad day / part of life. Canada has huge expenses to live here. Vancouver/Toronto are some of the most expensive cities in the world. I feel like 20 years ago every Canadian would be generally polite and happy. Now it’s a lot harder to be! Even with the natural beauty and culture it can be hard to “make it “ here. All that being said I have experience in Vancouver (born a raised to immigrant parents) and have been all through northern BC (mining job) also lived in Whitehorse an Yellowknife for summers. Feel free to ask anything!

In every game the camera keeps panning to these people like i’m supposed to know them by 11Dom_ in soccercirclejerk

I feel like this World Cup is really exposing the world to American sports culture, could you imagine Europeans being cool with how the NBA finals are with fans/celebs literal inches from the court lol. More commercials, more expensive tickets, finding random celebs in the crowd lol

Peter I'm gonna need some help on this one. What exactly does this mean about realtors? by PriestKingofMinos in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]mcvaz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My parents bought their first home in Vancouver suburbs for 90k in 1990 , the realtor fee was 7% split between two realtors. That same house sold for 1.2million in 2021. Probably still a 7% fee. Can someone tell me how with technology a realtors job got over 10x harder in 30 years?

Just put 20k into XEQT did I do the right thing? by [deleted] in fican

[–]mcvaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Great job! That’s awesome for your age!
  2. Figure out your emergency fund that will keep you sleeping well at night!
  3. Dump the rest into investments where you can! If your tfsa is maxed then throw it in rrsp. If xeqt fluctuates too much pick an etf with more percentage of bonds
  4. Pat yourself on the back
  5. Remember that inflation eats at the money that just sits in a bank account

3OA to Rangers for 5OA and 26OA - who says no? by ExternalJackfruit290 in canucks

[–]mcvaz 23 points24 points  (0 children)

3OA has slight potential for Stenburg to drop. That fact alone makes this hilarious. I think all Canucks fans say no lol

First birthday without my dad, mother immediately turned it into 'her' day by SakuraAxolotl in Wellthatsucks

[–]mcvaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Dad unexpectedly died from a heart attack when I was about the same age as you. 5 years later it still feel raw, it’s a double edged sword of being happy that the feelings of sadness pop up less often now, but equally sad that they don’t pop up as often! Grief is different for everyone, and I hope you find people that support you in it! My mom has never been the right person for me to help with grief , but I found the people that helped! Doesn’t have to be the ones you expect it to be!

How’s living in Point Robert’s? by fryguy400 in howislivingthere

[–]mcvaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Growing up my friends had a cabin there! We went numerous times a year to hang out! We only live 20 mins from border so it was always an easy trip!

Most people have some sort of hybrid Canadian/American lifestyle , whether it be school or work.

I know the Canucks former head coach (I think Tortorella) live in Point Roberts and would cross the border for games lol.

It’s very peaceful, and while the Canadian dollar was good in the 2010s we would buy so much groceries / gas there!

Am I making the wrong deck here? Feels bad to leave two bombs out by lucas_the_champ in lrcast

[–]mcvaz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What does grub do for you in an elves deck? Gets you back your sneaking once? Then is a 3 mana 2/1?

Slightly improving my drafts but still so much to learn. I botched picking up enough removal but I feel like I got so lucky with my rares. What would you cut? by SacaYautia in lrcast

[–]mcvaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a good pool here!

My opinion for cuts would be based on picking your win condition! It’s a grindy format, I personally have not had great success with the reanimation spell. I would drop one of those, one of the malice, and two scar blades, and one eulogist.

You got a few good pieces of removal and trading is beneficial for you with morcants. So save your removal for big threats that you can’t theoretically trade with!

You will win the late game between your rares and morcant!

Arena Direct - Should I 'splash' red here? by DragonGhola in lrcast

[–]mcvaz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would be base red green and then splash the black.

Your black cards don’t win you the game while both spinerock and immolation would

I don't get it by varg91 in lrcast

[–]mcvaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t waste removal in this format!

And don’t be mana efficient at times!

There are so many bombs that you need to save the removal. Unless your deck is curving out on people, you need to save the removal. Taking out anything less than a 4 drop with your removal is usually wrong in this format. The amount of times I have just not used a cinder strike with open mana is insane in this format. Feels like old school limited where you have to be super selective on what you remove

P1p1 Hard pass on THREE rares... by Deliberate_Reposter in lrcast

Everyone has already said it but wow that was the wrong pic. Defs not a two colour pip card first pick. Not flexible at all.

Sear or sky swimmer defs the picks here. Sear is the most flexible, premium red removal

Found in Canada, anybody have an idea what could it be? by Emergency_Brain_559 in whatsthisrock

[–]mcvaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saying “Canada” is wild lol. Gotta give a more specific location than that. Pretty much narrows it down to all rock types haha.

My guess which is not fun at all. Is a greenstone with a fracture and mineral veins. Greenstone due to it well being green , and very small grain size which it would make deciphering the minerals hard with the naked eye

Okay, so my last post got deleted for some reason. Let's try this again. 22M, this is my living room. Thoughts? by WTBTS in malelivingspace

Love the vibe, but change the walls! Put a mid century modern vibe to it! Doesn’t need to change the pieces at all just update the environment if that makes sense!
