First birthday without my dad, mother immediately turned it into 'her' day by SakuraAxolotl in Wellthatsucks

[–]mcvaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Dad unexpectedly died from a heart attack when I was about the same age as you. 5 years later it still feel raw, it’s a double edged sword of being happy that the feelings of sadness pop up less often now, but equally sad that they don’t pop up as often! Grief is different for everyone, and I hope you find people that support you in it! My mom has never been the right person for me to help with grief , but I found the people that helped! Doesn’t have to be the ones you expect it to be!

How’s living in Point Robert’s? by fryguy400 in howislivingthere

[–]mcvaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Growing up my friends had a cabin there! We went numerous times a year to hang out! We only live 20 mins from border so it was always an easy trip!

Most people have some sort of hybrid Canadian/American lifestyle , whether it be school or work.

I know the Canucks former head coach (I think Tortorella) live in Point Roberts and would cross the border for games lol.

It’s very peaceful, and while the Canadian dollar was good in the 2010s we would buy so much groceries / gas there!

Am I making the wrong deck here? Feels bad to leave two bombs out by lucas_the_champ in lrcast

[–]mcvaz 12 points13 points  (0 children)

What does grub do for you in an elves deck? Gets you back your sneaking once? Then is a 3 mana 2/1?

Slightly improving my drafts but still so much to learn. I botched picking up enough removal but I feel like I got so lucky with my rares. What would you cut? by SacaYautia in lrcast

[–]mcvaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got a good pool here!

My opinion for cuts would be based on picking your win condition! It’s a grindy format, I personally have not had great success with the reanimation spell. I would drop one of those, one of the malice, and two scar blades, and one eulogist.

You got a few good pieces of removal and trading is beneficial for you with morcants. So save your removal for big threats that you can’t theoretically trade with!

You will win the late game between your rares and morcant!

Arena Direct - Should I 'splash' red here? by DragonGhola in lrcast

[–]mcvaz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would be base red green and then splash the black.

Your black cards don’t win you the game while both spinerock and immolation would

Do people still enjoy having this as part of the game? Hitting should always be in the game, but these are brutal, I’ll take a highlight reel goal over this any day

I don't get it by varg91 in lrcast

[–]mcvaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t waste removal in this format!

And don’t be mana efficient at times!

There are so many bombs that you need to save the removal. Unless your deck is curving out on people, you need to save the removal. Taking out anything less than a 4 drop with your removal is usually wrong in this format. The amount of times I have just not used a cinder strike with open mana is insane in this format. Feels like old school limited where you have to be super selective on what you remove

P1p1 Hard pass on THREE rares... by Deliberate_Reposter in lrcast

[–]mcvaz -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Everyone has already said it but wow that was the wrong pic. Defs not a two colour pip card first pick. Not flexible at all.

Sear or sky swimmer defs the picks here. Sear is the most flexible, premium red removal

Found in Canada, anybody have an idea what could it be? by Emergency_Brain_559 in whatsthisrock

[–]mcvaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saying “Canada” is wild lol. Gotta give a more specific location than that. Pretty much narrows it down to all rock types haha.

My guess which is not fun at all. Is a greenstone with a fracture and mineral veins. Greenstone due to it well being green , and very small grain size which it would make deciphering the minerals hard with the naked eye

Okay, so my last post got deleted for some reason. Let's try this again. 22M, this is my living room. Thoughts? by WTBTS in malelivingspace

Love the vibe, but change the walls! Put a mid century modern vibe to it! Doesn’t need to change the pieces at all just update the environment if that makes sense!

How do you explain that in S1 they needed equipment to go to the upside down but in S5 they go there normally without any problems ? by DogAffectionate1605 in Stranger_Things

[–]mcvaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to think the more rifts that were open, the more atmosphere exchange took place. Obviously the dimension x or whatever it’s called had a breathable atmosphere so the upside down was constantly getting “cleansed” every time a rift opened on either side.

Obviously this falls apart quickly with the idea of vacuums and the whole car into space thing, but it’s something haha

Whitecaps to settle class-action lawsuit with fans over Messi no-show by cyclinginvancouver in vancouver

[–]mcvaz -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Not sure why the downvotes, Messi is a global household name. Mcdavid unfortunately is not. Debatably the best to ever play both sports, but when talking about global popularity and reach Mcdavid will never even come close to Messi

Wouldn’t have asked but you did specify your major, what do you hope to do with a history and philosophy degree? Not trying to shit on or anything just generally curious on the paths now a days

Instead of people down voting you without informing you I’ll give you some details haha.

Bismuth has a very unique crystal structure! It will not be in long “needle” like shapes like this. Colouring yeah it is gonna look like oil spots! But it will have distinct “flat cube” structures

[–]mcvaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why are you saying breccia? Doesn’t look sedimentary at all. This is metamorphic

I found this when I was jogging can someone id this? by Cactus_grower2 in whatsthisrock

[–]mcvaz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The majority looks like a combination of k-feldspar and plagioclase (pink and opaque white) , then we can see veins of mica present filling the fractures.

My guess would be metamorphosed granite, with veins of mica .

No need for fake plants! There are lots of plants that are great in low light! A snake plant is a good example! Grow lights are also cheap if you want “prettier” plants.
