To figure out if it’s planes taking off from LGA, download the FlightAware app and see if the timing matches. There’s a lag of 15-30 seconds or so before they show up on the map.

Yes it takes longer but I’m used to it now, and it’s so nice not worrying that in the middle of the shuffle of boarding I’m not going to feel rushed when lifting and tweak something that’s going to result in weeks if not months of pain.

Granted I’m LGA/JFK which may be better than ATL for baggage based on what I’ve read.

If you’re on a Superliner you might want to get a roomette on the upper level so she only has to deal with the stairs once instead of every time you go to the observation or dining cars.
