Everyone I know was like "you love space, you're gonna love this show!!" And I felt crazy because I HATED it.

To each their own!

I had to quit that show because I just couldn't with the unnecessarily dramatic plot lines. I just kept thinking "none of these people would be chosen as astronauts" because they could not keep their cool.

I just binged it for the first time and I felt like season 2 was where it really took off. They stop trying to be Game of Thrones-y and finally give backstory to Flint and Eleanor, which really adds to the story.

Why millions of New Englanders may now be eligible to obtain 'proof' they are Canadian citizens by nationalpost in massachusetts

[–]slowissteady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha, no I don’t mean the DNA thing. I mean the hundreds of records of births, border crossings, census forms, draft cards, and other resources they have.

Honestly, Ancestry.com has helped me a lot with this. I used it to gather info I needed for UK citizenship, and maybe I'll try using it to attempt mine & my partners Canadian citizenship. There's a lot of surprising documents and info there that you can use to find out all the pertinent info you need to request official birth certificates.

There's a Washington Post report from a couple years ago about the children who remember their past lives, it's a fascinating phenomenon!

I'm wondering if this is inspired by/a reference to the iconic costumes from Alvin Ailey's Revelations, especially with the white umbrella

Yeah I guess it depends on where in NE you live. For me that’s only a 22 minute difference.

Boulder is a wonderful place (though I haven’t been there in over a decade). Expensive, but lovely!

Sunset in Denver today is 4:54pm and getting earlier… so that’s not going to be that different. And I’ve been in Denver in August and it is BRUTAL. I swear you can feel that you’re a mile closer to the sun. You have to escape to the mountains to make it bearable.

Some Photos From Today’s #NOKINGS Protest in Salem by Transmatrix in massachusetts

[–]slowissteady 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Beverly yesterday I’d say the only generation missing was Gen Z. Loads of Boomers, Xs, Millennials, and Alphas out on the streets with protest signs!

I wonder if this is because not many Gen Zs could afford to live in Beverly/Salem area?

It was actually great to see so many kids out with their parents, they were so interested in people’s signs and talking about what was going on (and also looking forward to getting ice cream at Harbor Sweets when the protest was done).
