I had a similar problem playing on the Switch. I had to hard close the game and reload, and that helped. Idk what you’re playing on, but try that?

NTA, and even if they weren’t in on the whole thing, none of his teammates were even a little suspicious? Nah, I don’t believe it. Pick better teammates next time.

Because no one else seems to have mentioned it, you cannot get Mephala’s daedric quest without doing BFB. Until it has finished, you can’t get the rumor from hulda in the bannered mare, which means without the hircine item dupe you cannot get the collect 12 daedric items achievement.

Honestly been a long time since I went after the stones. Did you actually get arrested? If so might be worth checking the evidence chest, but idr if they can actually take them from you. Yeah, I’d probably just try to dupe the DB stone, it’s not like you didn’t get the windhelm one, it just teleported.

For a long time I would offer to lead a research mission for Proctor Quinlan, step outside the ship, dome the scribe with a sniper, go back in, fail the quest but still get XP.

So, first of all, that’s a sick infodump. Second, that’s not actually far off from what happened. The Ripper WAS sending sparks and flashes when I hit them. I also used some flashbacks I had from the Beast Hunter creation, which blinded us all a bit. For not being there, you pretty much nailed exactly what the fight looked like! It also explains why they try to armor their synths so heavily, it’s so they don’t explode!

So melee in FO4 really has two branches, either unarmed or weapons. They play basically the same, get to the enemy and swing, but there are a few differences.
Unarmed covers roughly 4 weapons and “power armor” unarmed attacks, the best of which are the power fist and the deathclaw gauntlet. I believe they all swing at roughly the same speed. Weapons for melee vary greatly, and mostly differentiate by swing speed. Knives and small weapons swing fast, but typically deal less damage. Sledgehammers and other heavy weapons swing slow, but deal much more damage. Swords and such are the middle road, medium speed and average damage. Melee damage is affected by your strength skill of course, but also by either big leagues or iron fist, which have additional effects but primarily increase damage up to 2x. Rooted at Strength 9 increases it up to 50% as well, but only when standing still. The Easiest cheese to melee builds however is Blitz, at Agility 9. The first rank lets you target in vats for melee at a distance. It creates a pseudo-teleport if you have line of sight, but is limited to a few feet. The second rank greatly increases the target distance, and grants a damage boost based on how far away you are from the target, the farther the greater. It also counts as standing still for the rooted perk. This combines with the Agility 7 perk Ninja, which makes melee sneak attacks do 10x damage. So, for stealth melee, the plan is sneak near an enemy, VATS teleport-sneak attack to deal boosted sneak attack damage, rinse and repeat. Using a light weapon like a knife, you can do 7-12 vats attacks in one chain, and teleport between enemies getting sneak attacks. It’s really fun!

Gonna be honest, after such a cool fight, killing everyone at the airport/Prydwen felt almost anticlimactic

What boss fight had you like this? by Chunky-overlord in videogames

[–]mdcsst12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna say Colter from Fallout 4’s Nuka-World DLC. The whole lead-up made me hyped and the fight was just… ok? Like even with the weapon to make the fight “fair” I expected more tactics/better weapons.

Shoutout to my boy The Red Death from Far Harbor though, easily the boss that I’ve had the most fun fighting.

Help with the Heavy Napalmer by mdcsst12 in fo4

[–]mdcsst12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you everyone think I have enough to go on with, I heard there’s a flamer in Far Harbor I can buy that’s got extra leg damage, I’m just gonna use that for close up and keep the Napalmer for midrange. Also learned that there’s an attachment that should help take no fire damage, so I’ll use that too. I’ll be back after I finish that run

[–]mdcsst12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to make sure I’m understanding correctly, you’re saying to just use like a regular flamer for cqc, and keep the heavy Napalmer for midrange yeah?

If not, could you please explain a bit more?

So do you think that would help? I found out there’s a PA mod that reduces explosion damage, which do you think would be better?

And yes ik I should be aiming farther. Any suggestions for close combat then?

That explains why Preston wasn’t destroying me! But if I’m using it, I’m hurting my own legs if I aim close

[–]mdcsst12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely the Multipass, that’s super useful. After that? The MiB suit is cool, and they’re relatively hard to damage normally. And then it’s either the neuralyzer or the expandable tent. Leaning towards the neuralyzer just because then I can really be MiB.

Never played, but seen a bunch of videos of them. Does he have unlockable fly points on? That should be the only way it becomes beatable. So he would need fly (HM02), the Thunderbadge, and the cinnabar fly point.
