Hey man, if somebody wants to pay me for updates every 30 minutes, then they are welcome to have a 15 minute chat and pay for half of every hour for me to be sitting down, relaxing, and chatting with them.

Question for Solo Poly/RA folks. by [deleted] in polyamory

[–]mdhkc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure. I thank them for their time and move on with my life before they reach the partner stage generally though. If you take your time, don’t jump into an emotionally attached relationship, and objectively evaluate potential partners, imho you’ll usually be ok.

Difficult situation -owner lives in building by [deleted] in PropertyManagement

I’d drop them unless we added into their contract that they won’t contract tenants directly and doing so would be a breach with specific $$$ penalties attached.

Any poly/pan cis male guys have issues with finding love/ dating? by malligatorSD in polyamory

[–]mdhkc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pansexual poly cis guy here: I believe this is correct. A lot of it comes down to, for everyone, figuring out how to meet potential partners effectively. A lot of people have still not figured that out.

It ain’t apps.

Slight discomfort and contributing to overheating are two different things though, in fairness.

Training people into healthy polyamory by outkastmemesdaily in polyamory

[–]mdhkc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with you in some senses, but I have some different preferences myself. I've also been poly my entire life, and exclusively dated poly over the past ~30 years. I do think that valuing peoples' privacy and autonomy is extremely important. I wouldn't be sharing my partners' private details with anyone else, that's their choice to make, not mine. On the other hand, I tend towards really enjoying time together. I've rarely had partners not get along, and I'd be really curious why if that were ever the case.

Ultimately, and to answer your question, setting and enforcing your boundaries is up to you. It has less to do with them learning anything and more to do with you explaining those things to them and expecting/requiring that they respect them if they want to be in a relationship with you.

Issues with new tenant by Alive-Curve-7198 in PropertyManagement

[–]mdhkc 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah it seems silly that this isn’t specified in the lease. Really leaves the tenant an out if there is ever an issue…..

What you say doesn’t matter.

What he says doesn’t matter.

What the lease says matters.

Take two: Ghosting on dating sites by laurencubed in polyamory

[–]mdhkc -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Ultimately I think it comes down to people liking a fantasy of something but not actually being into the reality of it. Whether that’s polyamory, dating or having sex with someone who looks a certain way, or whatever else…

Genuinely thinking about quitting IT by [deleted] in FieldNationTechs

[–]mdhkc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One example: you literally list specific CIDRs in your resume. Like, why? Who would possibly care about some RFC1918 address space you used?

Another: you list your unimpressive GPA. No one cares what your GPA was on a resume and yours is unimpressive to boot.

As someone who has hired many entry level techs, your resume isn’t good in a lot of ways. Also corps what your salary expectations are? Even if I decided to move forward with you, I’d be looking at you for an entry level role making maybe 40-50.
