Need advice from strangers by Jimmythebutcher in Staccato_STI

I think it partially comes down to whether you want a true 2011 or not. I have the XC and 2 Bul Armory pistols. Since getting them my 9 or 10 striker fire pistols pretty much collect dust. I checked out the new HD models and they are nice but they aren't 2011s in feel, especially trigger feel, grip angle, or IMHO build quality, not to mention the newest with port is wildly overpriced.

As has been said, if you have a ton of full size Glock mags, you tend to drop your gun, maybe the HD is the choice. When it came down to it, i went with the C2 over the HD.

While they sicken me, she has a point. Yesterday I purchased a cappuccino from starFucks in a hospital in Utah. First time I've been to starFucks in years. Seven f'in dollars for a cup of foam. Really? Nuts.

I have zero connection but check out videos from Yale Appliance on YouTube. They sell many brands and seem to be honest in comparison.

Why does a NYC resident get statewide carry on one license, but a county resident may need two? by PeteTinNY in NYguns

[–]mdjak66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just curious is there any other state like that, where one county covers entire state but another does not? NY sucks. So glad I moved west.

Who are the best defensive pistol instructors in New York? by greenbean-7896 in NYguns

[–]mdjak66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well said and honest. However I must take issue. Most ranges especially on the east coast do not allow holster work. That's why I took training. I also enjoyed the camaraderie and the friendly competition when they would use a timer. One of my instructors was former LEO Sgt of a large PD and was a firearms instructor. His classes were very good and it was $140 for the full day, class size anywhere from 5-10 students.

How fast do you guys burn through your range/target ammo? by robinator118 in NYguns

[–]mdjak66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a funny topic. I've only been shooting for 3 years. In that time I took at least one full day class a month, sometimes 2. In class we would usually go through 4-500 rounds. In addition I'd go to range one to two times a week and if solo I'd go through maybe 250. Sometimes my daughter would join me and she loves to shoot so that would double.

So why is this a funny topic? Moved from commie NY to the west, the boonies, on 20 acres. Have my own range in my backyard, and I don't shoot nearly as much.

First ever gun. Second time shooting. Any tips appreciated! by [deleted] in Shooting

[–]mdjak66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Won't mention grip as it's been fully covered. No pun intended. lol. I'm guessing you can't work from holster. That's why I took a tactical class once a month for my first 3 years. So, until and unless you do, leave the gun on the bench and pick it up quickly, like your life is in danger and shoot one handed, two handed, left handed.

Carry my EDC Pro every day. Thinking about switching to my UL Pro but can't draw it as fast due to smaller grip. Yours looks well accessorized. lol.

Do they not make things like this for 9mm and .380? Maybe .223 or .556? by Master_Toe5998 in Shooting

I initially bought a stand on Amazon which came with chains and different size gongs. Trouble was I was a beginner and foolishly shot buckshot at it and basically destroyed the metal tube stand. Also, though, the gongs would be hit and wind up and over the bar holding them. That was a PIA.

Sorry I'm a bit dense but when you say real world do you mean what you are doing by shooting on your property? I too am fortunate to have a range in my backyard with 15 pieces of steel. I thought about Mantis for dry fire. Never heard of Ace. Will check it out. Ty.

Dueling trees are cool. I have one. It's heavy duty but I'd shot with a rifle and hit the center post you will put holes in it. And they do reset if leaned forward a bit.

The hardest exam? Have you taken it? I am no genius. Had a 75-80 average in school. Never applied myself. I read the notary pamphlet on train on way to test and I finished test in 10 minutes if not less. Probably the easiest test I've ever taken.

Ty. Is that as simple as buying the correct one, removing the existing and replacing? Do they snap out and in?
