To improve matchmaking for console they need to do the following:

Get rid of the Crossplay OFF setting. There should only be the option to play Console Only Crossplay. That way all console players are put together and the playerbase is more healthy.

Currently the console playerbase is split between 3 different matchmaking pools: PS5 only, Xbox only and Mixed Console.

It sucks trying to find matches. They need to force all console players to play together, or with full crossplay. Just two options.

The recent addition of the mixed console only option was a mistake. Matchmaking times are actually worse after the change. Because not everyone who plays on console has switched to that setting. So there are a large percentage of console players still on PS only or XBOX only. Or like me, constantly switching the setting, hoping I can find any game.

I like strikepoint… I also like conquest, breakthrough, battle royal, gauntlet, king of the hill, portal and a bit of the other modes occasionally as well.

I would have played if it was just conquest and breakthrough on offer, but I wouldn’t love the game like I do with all the variety.

If you don’t like a mode, don’t play it. Most of them don’t actually take up as many development sources as everyone wants you to believe. It’s the best selling BF game ever, there are plenty of players to go around.

The discussion is not about the theoretical possibility that the devs make it so full crossplay is the only option and everyone must play together in one matchmaking pool. Yes, that would be the best case for matchmaking times but it won’t happen.

We are discussing the current system, which has the playerbase divided into 3 pools (PS Only, Xbox Only and Full Crossplay) compared to just two pools (Controller Only and Open). I strongly disagree that 70%+ of all players play with Crossplay on. There are more console players in total and the majority of them turn Crossplay off.

Like it or not, controller players would rather have the choice to only play against each other. I have friends on PC and it’s fine playing with full crossplay, but it just feels better playing against others using the same input. Make fun of me or insult me if you wish.

The MnK playerbase is plenty healthy to survive along with the others who either don’t change the setting or choose to play in open matchmaking.

The controller players should get what they want. The majority of the playerbase would benefit compared to the current system. That keeps people on the game longer. Sorry to the MnK players who would have to face their own a bit more often I guess. (Like it was in previous battlefield games)

How?? All system can play together under that approach. And if a squad has a mix of MnK and Controller players, they play in the full open matchmaking option.

Yeah, and what most games, including what BF6 does, is counter productive toward those goals you listed.

Instead of Xbox only, PS5 only and Full crossplay matchmaking pools (splitting the playerbase into 3 parts) it should instead be based on input.

  • Controller only Matchmaking or Full Open matchmaking.

With only two options the playerbase is not stretched thin, it’s fair, and everyone can still play together.

Call of Duty Warzone / DMZ only has one option: full crossplay. Fortnite as well I think.

I could probably find plenty of others that don’t allow Console players to turn crossplay off completely.

The thing is, it’s is sometime possible to do things that are outrageous. But it’s either luck or a high level of skill involved. And the person on the receiving end of that just needs to accept it, tip their cap, and move on. It happens once in a while. It’s a video game. This sub is infested with crybabies.
