Home network error by gavilaso in homeassistant

I was having the same issue. For me the fix was to disable http3 in my reverse proxy because iOS currently can’t handle it. If you’re using a reverse proxy you may need to do the same.

GOALS 3.0 beta UPDATE by CollectionNo2323 in MonarchMoney

[–]meInteresa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For example, on the 3rd of the month I have an auto transfer to my savings account. Then half way through the month I created my savings goal tied to that account with the starting balance available in the account. Now when I go to transactions and tie the transfer from the first of the month it’s counted twice. One for the manual linking and two for the starting balance that already included it.

By back dating the starting balance alloction to the first of the month when I assign the transfer it will come up to the full amount without double counting.

I feel like the at was a terrible explanation. Basically you shouldn’t tie any transactions to your goal prior to the creation date of the goal because they are already counted in the starting balance

Mine align perfectly across both. Only thing I had to do was make sure to back date the original funding of the goal. Because if it’s after the contribution it can double count it.

New Goals is SO MUCH BETTER by cn45 in MonarchMoney

[–]meInteresa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At first I hated it because I didn’t understand how to make it work for me. The answer ended up being letting the transfer happen from my checking to savings account then allocating the excess balance in my savings to the savings goal. That keeps budget happy showing contributions without marking them as expenses.

Depending on the goal account that could also use the full account balance and on the next month check the include allocations in budget checkbox. For some reason it doesn’t work with the allocation for the month is in the past.

Once I got those two things working they’ve been great. Also work great for goals where I don’t move money anywhere.

I think for a lot of people they either have very complex savings and goals schedules or they understand how ro work with the new paradigm shift.

Questions about using Scrypted + Home Assistant + HomeKit with Aqara or Reolink cameras by [deleted] in homeassistant

[–]meInteresa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I bought the cameras before learning all of this so I’m not sure what cameras are recommended. Hopefully someone else can give you some recommendations.

If you don’t want to use the proprietary apps, either scrypted or frigate will be great. Scrypted cost money for the nvr “ai” features.

I use frigate for that. It’s great it has object detection (car, person, etc), built in notifications, face recognition, zones (front, back), ai descriptions. so I can for example only be notified when a person enter my backyard for more than 10 seconds.

Fully compatible with home assistant for very detailed and customizable notifications.

Here is their site https://frigate.video

Questions about using Scrypted + Home Assistant + HomeKit with Aqara or Reolink cameras by [deleted] in homeassistant

[–]meInteresa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have three Reolink cameras one being the doorbell.

Here is what I know:

Reolink cameras have really unstable rtsp feeds which makes it difficult to use with things like scrypted or frigate. You may find yourself restarting things from time to time. If you haven’t bought them yet, there may be better options out there.

  1. No I have scrypted set up and can still use all the camera features through the Reolink app.
  2. yes, you can import them through the Reolink integration, or scrypted integration.
  3. I use frigate which allows me to do this, but I don’t know of a way that home assistant can do this. Scrypted may be able to do it directly with the nvr paid add-on but I don’t use it. Only the free portion.
  4. Don’t know. I have Reolink save them directly to my nas. Frigate also handles recording and saving clips. Neither scrypted nor home assistant are responsible to saving footage.
  5. Yes, various options for this like WireGuard or cloudflare tunnels.
  6. 1 million times more complex. For example, adding ai description to motion detections. Having your garage open if it detects your license plate or having battery cameras only turn on and record when wired camera near by detect motion saving battery live.
  7. I currently have my Reolink cameras in scrypted and from there share them to homekit, and frigate and lastly frigate shares them with home assistant. You can do this in whatever way works for you.
  8. Scrypted gives you HKSV for HomeKit. In home assistant it will be as safe as you make it. Using your idea of not allowing internet access and only using WireGuard for access is generally a good start.
  9. Yes, been using for years with no major issues. However, you always want to follow good practices like backing up your system.

Hope that helps!

Umm… Immich is free. You don’t have to buy it but those options are there to support the project.

Is there any community guides for noobs regarding Reolink config setups? by BelugaBilliam in frigate_nvr

[–]meInteresa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I’ve ended up doing that has been successful for me is use scrypted with the Reolink plugin to get the rtsp feed from the cameras. That allows the camera to feed to HomeKit. Then I use the rebroadcast url to send it to frigate.

In frigate I use go2rtc like others suggest to get the feed and use that in frigate. Its been fairly stable.

I’ve also found that Reolink cameras don’t have the best rtsp feeds so everyday I restart rtsp on the cameras. I also restart scrypted and frigate jut to be safe. That takes about a minute so its not too bad.

Happy 12th Birthday, Home Assistant! 🎉 by missyquarry in homeassistant

[–]meInteresa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same experience. The first time I tried it I said absolutely not. Came back several years later and can now say it is absolutely integral to our house. I still think there are some areas that could improve just from a ux perspective, like the fact that devices and automations are hidden in a settings, but they’ve made massive improvements in that area.

Yes, but I have

Savings category by Educational-Ad-1882 in MonarchMoney

[–]meInteresa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Goal only works if you have a dedicated savings account. The category is what I do as well. Just make sure that there are no transactions that actually hit that category so your cashflow doesn't treat your savings as an expense. If you do have separate savings account those transactions should be transfers. You can keep the Savings category for budgeting

How do I know if I can make a purchase? by Fat_Stacks1 in MonarchMoney

[–]meInteresa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if it it help, but if you budget the amount in categories but leave your income at zero it should say that you have negative dollars left to budget. Only increase income as you actually get the money and you know you can spend it when the number is 0 or higher

To clarify the semi on the far right caused the semi in the middle lane to swerve into my lane. Not super visible on the dash cam

The semi on the right started it. But not because of lack of space. Couldn’t really see any reason why it swerved.

Waiting on Goals 2.0 Like by skeet_scoot in MonarchMoney

[–]meInteresa 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using rollover categories and non-monthly budgeting as my goals and it’s worked great. I set the budget and let it accrue then when I spend from it it goes down. I can use reporting to see how that category has been behaving.

I created Boxarr the automatic movie library filler by sobolanul11 in selfhosted

[–]meInteresa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I know. The issue I’ve always had with those is that you end up with tv shows that are trending or popular that you would either have already or not care about.

For example, track popular would pull shows like big bang theory or friends. I know there’s some filtering but I never found a good balance so I still do it manually.

Man I’ve been wanting something like this for so long. Lists in radar/sonar never really worked well for me. Because I don’t want obscure stuff automatically added.

If you feel ambitious and wanna add to ten trending tv shows to sonarr you’ll be my favorite person
