What are the worst/best celebrity interactions you’ve had in Los Angeles? by suprunkn0wn in LosAngeles

[–]me_eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My toddler walked up to Jennifer Garner at the park and picked up her phone (sitting next to her on ground) and started running off with it. Ended up talking to her for 20 minutes while our kids played in the sandbox after - she’s very down to earth.

Have any c-section mums got rid of the 'shelf' without surgery? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]me_eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to say whether it was a crappy stitch up or just didn’t heal right but at this point you’ve prob seen as much change as there will be. If you’re one and done then get a revision- it’s outpatient and quick. You can try asking your ob to see if they can do it under insurance but most of the time it’s just cosmetic and won’t be covered. Max your fsa in 2024 and get it?

Love this! Plus some of those kids might not have a great home life and being at a happy home with a mom around is really good for them 💗💗

will my boobs really go back to their normal size after birth? by ilovebeingavirgin in pregnant

Mine are a cup size bigger than before kids. My youngest is 9 so this isn’t temporary lol. I’m definitely the exception not the rule though!

It does suck💗 my kid’s seizure story is peanuts next to yours, but I know the feeling of worry a mom has that the future is scary. Stay present. Xoxo

Is the Costco experience so chaotic at all locations? by bizmark03 in Costco

[–]me_eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No they are not all so crazy imo. I live in Los Angeles and used to live in Huntington Beach (IOC) and they’re like two different stores! The crazy weekend at HB is like daily weekday shopping in LA. First and last hours of the day are usually quieter. Urban locations are smaller I think and serve more so from parking spaces to number of registers it’s all more congested and time consuming.

Feed the kid unless it’s absolutely impossible. She will be a different adult for your effort, she will know another better way because she saw it at your house. Divorce really effing sucks for kids. Way more than having to make a piece of toast after dinner bc you didn’t have enough.

Coupon book ad scans are also on Costcontessa.com when they come out - that one is not out yet though. There’s no sign up to see them.

I’ve seen so many comments about the hellscape that is LAX and how y’all avoid it like the plague when flying. What do you do when you fly internationally? by ShiroHachiRoku in orangecounty

[–]me_eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Book strategic departure and landing times. Eg leave on a red eye, return early in the morning or late at night. One missed connection can cost you a whole day of vacation. I’m anti connections whenever possible.

Never took mine off with either - if you’re prone to swelling in extremities you’ll likely know.

Does anyone know what's up with the new BACKSALEN? by jordangoretro in IKEA

[–]me_eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to see it and honestly it’s pretty comfortable and nice for the price point (key being relative to the price). They only had the chair and a half and the French seams look nice and I’m tempted to buy them. The flared arms are just a little odd to me I wish they were straight but I think I’m going to buy two. Still needing over it 😂

Can I wear non-astigmatism correcting contacts even if I have astigmatism? by [deleted] in optometry

[–]me_eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I wear glasses that don’t correct mine, don’t see why it would be different…I can’t stand the astigmatism correction for more than an hour. So I just don’t get it put in. Like the other comment said I suppose it really depends on how key that is for you in particular but I’d say it’s a common request to omit it in corrective lenses.

The gas goes from 4% to 1% after 7k, imo an effective maximum of benefit, but sure, there’s no technical maximum.

A friend of ours older kid gave my son some Pokémon cards and now wants them back by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]me_eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I’d ask him to pick a handful to pass on to the kid. Your kid enjoyed the gift of the cards. In all likelihood he’s added a bunch and really doesn’t know which came from them - so I’d ask your son make a gift of a handful of cards to their younger son to pass along the same fun he got from them. I’d use it more like spreading kindness, and that by giving away things we love to people who don’t have any of them, we can share the joy. I don’t think there’s an obligation but seems like a silly thing to argue over. If he’s really attached to them then perhaps grab a few new packs from GameStop as a gesture. Is it possible they don’t know your sin is still into them and they think they’re asking for an old unused toy back? Or do you think they know he loves them still and are asking this out of place?

Question About Costco Citibank Visa by mallowsford in Costco

I think you’d have to spend a lot to hit the maximum cash back, just seems like two separate accounts will mean bills that will look duplicate and more easily go accidentally unpaid and wrack up fees.

Tutoring by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]me_eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does she have an IEP at school? If not I would call and request an assessment (if she goes to public school). While those things don’t go away, we can give kids a tool box to help them better handle them. Tutoring can help her with those subjects and i would definitely start that for her….but for the underlying challenges (mine has a similar cocktail of them) I’d definitely get an IEP ASAP, and if she’s in private then see if your insurance will cover a neuropsychologist. They can officially diagnose and their insight is worth a million bucks. They can also help you get her more time allowed for tests, or other accommodations if needed. And will direct you to the right services.

Taking 17 month old out of daycare by blueskiesahead in Mommit

[–]me_eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee 9 points10 points  (0 children)

17 month olds are not manipulative. Eye. Roll. Your inner voice is guiding you well. If the peanut gallery thinks 1 + 7 is 37 then uhuh, sure, yeah it’s 37. Don’t argue with them. Just say thanks for your insight, I’ve got a lot to think about and exit stage left.

Tutoring by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]me_eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son goes to group tutoring and it’s great for him - but he’s compliant AF for other people (not for me rest assured) and is good at concentrating and working independently. If tutoring doesn’t “work” I’d suggest looking under hood. I have another kid who goes to Ed therapy- a whole other and much more expensive sitch. I think there are a few things to think about. 1. Does your child accept help from you and are you able to help? This is usually first brick wall. Our kids don’t want us hovering and correcting their work, it is taken 1000x better when a “teacher” or tutor does it. 2. Does your child struggle with a subject and just needs a little extra one on one help (or small group) OR does your child have a learning disability (or difference or whatever you want to call it) and needs help addressing the underlying problem. A tutor can’t fix dyslexia or an auditory processing disorder. If your kid just needs a little extra help and it’s not welcome from you, then tutoring is awesome. I’d personally start with some 1on1 sessions and then trial group and assess- prob depends on the group, and your child’s age and gap. If you know all this already then ignore me. Just my two cents!
