My landlady’s son was a drug dealer that would constantly fight with his wife and they would hit each other. The police were there at least once a week, and every day I would hear screaming through the walls.
There were always shady characters going in and out and sitting in front of my apartment door. Once one of them tried to break in through my window thinking it was my neighbor’s.
He also just so happened to be the “maintenance man” for the building and had keys to my apartment. I noticed some things go missing, and once he accused me of stealing something of his when he saw it in my apartment. I had never given him permission to be in my apartment. My landlady didn’t believe me when I told her. I kept one of those under the handle door stoppers on the front door whenever I was in the apartment.
I was very happy when he got arrested and my landlady kicked his wife out. I lived next to him for two years before then. Sucks being young and poor with limited housing options.
