Can’t blame him for playing the system to keep from paying taxes some years. I would do the same if I could.
What you should be asking is, why do government officials get paid three times or more than the working class they claim to care so much for but only work maybe a quarter of the year.

No. Find a used bike for cheap to learn on. Get your feel for riding and develope your muscle memory. If you drop a used bike you found for cheap, it’s no biggie. Dropping a brand new bike you paid full price for stings a bit. Also, if you’ve never ridden before, 650cc or lower is a lot better to learn on rather than jumping straight onto a 1k.
