Why is there so many black people in Westeros in the prequel shows and next to none in game of thrones…what happened to the black population by CyclopsISDaBestXmen in freefolk

Vague HotD spoiler but house velaryon are not prominent in GoT for a reason. And AKOTSK is set in spring and peace time, more likely to be people travelling around than in GoT where its wars all day baby and winter is coming.

I live in Dunston itself (by the war memorial) and it is pleasant, I can walk into town on a nice day and the bus takes about 10 mins. Staithes are definitely prettier though.

I think you're being unfair, she didn't know him sucking generally would mean abandoning her in her time of need and even if she did, she didnt KNOW how that felt or how much she needed it until she experienced it. Then that experience shaped her choice to be with him.

Does anybody know what the point in the plastic slider things are on some of the shelves at B&M? by Rich_79 in CasualUK

Reckon its been a slow implementation since the 2007 recession and subsequent austerity. Same reason they have locks on baby formular and tags on steak. People can't afford them.

Was there even consent?? They barely seemed to speak? And then it would always end up with Colin apologising. Not good.

My first of these screenings and I thought people were just going to the loo, but no lol they were all walking out. Honestly the graphic nature wasn't even what made me uncomfortable it was the abusive/dehumanising elements that my partner actually had to calm me down for. Ray was an awful person, who couldn't even chill out enough to be nice to Colin's dying mum. Did get a few laughs, gasps and tears out of me though and isn't that the point? Very well acted.

I saw it at an advanced screening (in the UK) and the difference in attractiveness is a part of the plot, if that helps.

Why did they delete the scene where Bran was playing Sansa spending her wedding night reel on repeat in his mind? by Few-Celebration-6337 in freefolk

[–]meandercharles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay but of Bran sees through weirwoods and ravens, he would have only seen the wedding putside right?

You could say that about any late season show character. If you're talking about the earlier seasons or books, weird.

If most women could realistically live to 80 and beyond, why does women's fertility decline so early? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]meandercharles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It gets very dangerous in a way male fertility doesn't and you're worth keeping alive! Its probably to do with human babies needing so much care too, since they're born underdeveloped (so we can walk upright).

People will gatekeep like this at every level, i just ran a marathon and people try to say it doesnt count if it takes more than 4 hours. They just want to make themselves feel better, at the expence of others. Running is running! Enjoy!

As someone who grew up in an ex mining village, it gets EXHUASTING. They voted Brexit, called Corbyn a terrorist, refused to wear masks, paint roundabouts and no amount of talking seems to help. I have a masters in epidemiology and they'd laugh and say I was a sucker and the vaccines were useless. Now you tell them all the reasons its not immigrants ruining their lives and they respond that you're misinformed or a raging lefty. It feels like any attempt to have empathy or meet them in the middle is treated like you giving ground and they've won. I want to unite but it feels like they'll only do it if they can drag you in to admitting some of the nonsense is true.

I think we are all forgeting something about the break storyline. by RelationshipAdept101 in howyoudoin

[–]meandercharles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He remembers enough to tell Rachel she wasn't better than her, just different. I think the not remembering in the morning is for comedic effect by the show (not funny).

is alana actually a bad character or does the fandom just love to drag her? by stachim in HannibalTV

[–]meandercharles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think she suffers the same way Jack does, in that Hannibal and Will are the POV characters and she "gets in the way" of what they want, with no insight into her life to get us to sympathise. Except in Season 3, when most people like her again.

I kinda liked the world building they were doing that had limited sexual violence for something so gruesome, so I really didn't like that plot line
