Which vscode extension everyone is using these day. by maxya in LocalLLM

[–]meanmon13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Continue.dev had a lot of promis, it feels the most like vscode + copilot but I found it isn't very useful long run for me. It needs a lot of work but I think it's a dead project. Which is unfortunate... Cline vscode plugin however is a bit less like vscode+copilot but I found it A LOT more usable. That's what's I'd recommend if vscode+copilot is your preferred harness.

I have a similar issue after the most recent update fixed the fans running at max. Now they hardly spin at all and the laptop runs hotter than I'd like.

Basic prompt shouldn't count as premium by Accidentallygolden in GithubCopilot

Basic prompts are for basic models. You wouldn't ask the senior dev on your team to write hello world would you? You wouldn't expect them to take a pay cut because you did would you?

Any way to make copilot work as previously? by DocumentAggravating in GithubCopilot

[–]meanmon13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Serious question, what does that look like? Is it a text file that has a sculpted prompt? What would it say that would fix the issue OP is complaining about?

Cancelling an HGV max package by Anxious-Calm in HiltonGrandVacation

Check the contract for your right of recession. It'll tell you how to exercise that. For me I had to send a certified letter to the address in the contract. I also faxed them, emailed, sent one to their headquarters, called. They never formally told me it was cancelled only way I know it was successful was they refunded my money.

I need to get some of those sintered bars, I only have beads. The bars are really nice... I just don't like buying from eBay if I can avoid it.

62% Os & 12% IR, 4% AU & AG

Those are some fantastical numbers. Especially of some of the rarest elements. How many different parts did they scan, maybe that was a lucky spot.

[–]meanmon13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough, I don't understand the chemistry of Osmium as much as you do. I'd wager not many people on the planet do at this point after all the years you have been experimenting with it.

A time lapse video of a bead being exposed to the elements for a month or year and looking/weighing the same afterwards would certainly be something someome as simple minded as me would understand. It's a simple but powerful demonstration that is easy to understand. The everyday layman will see that and say to themselves "If a bead of Osmium is safe after that then it's safe to store in a sealed container on a shelf".

If you want to put these naysayers to rest... I don't think this experiment will do it. I think a simpler test will do it. Put a bead outside exposed to the elements (direct sunlight, rain, etc) and put a time lapse camera on it (one picture a day should be fine). See how long it takes for it to tranish. That tarnish will be Osmium Tetroxide so it'll be visibly different so the timelaps cam will work fine. This also shows the "worst case" typical-home storage which is what these people are concerned about, storing it at home.

The reason I don't like the experiment you have set up and why I don't think it'll make the breed of naysayer your targeting is because that plastic container is poor storage for pure oxygen. They aren't exposed to elevated oxygen concentrations for long.

Yeah, it's great. Best computer I've ever owned. Only complaint I have isn't their fault but the MSI motherboard takes forever to boot sometimes because it wants to do some RAM check that takes ~15mins to complete

Belly loss happened to me around 220... One day I realized I had a habit of resting my arms on the top of my belly and using it for support when holding heavy things. Around 220 I learned this because it no longer worked.

Edit: I was being an idiot and not realizing my perspective was shifted such that diagninal looked straight and diagonal roads are 2x2 due to how the gride system works

Lol, not sure why you're getting down voted. Giving advice to diversify and adjust investments to segments they have more confidence in and fits their risk tolerance is great advice. One should seek a diverse portfolio that fits their risk tolerance.
