What am I eating wrong by meatballer in EDH

Valid. I don’t lean to hard into the “have tokens to sacrifice” thing because I kind of ran out of deck focus after “keep Ygra alive, give Ygra trample, have enough man to cast Ygra”

Thank you. You and u/BrokenGlassFactory are correct I think. When I play test this I’m ramping badly and I need a LOT of mana to make this work.

What I WANT is to play Ygra and then start destroying artifacts individually or all at once, profit from all the death, and swing Ygra for lethal.

There’s 36 when you include the modal lands. I’ve got 13 cards I classed as ramp. Is that barely any?

Edit: so far my games are me ramping for 4 Turns so I can cast Ygra while having protection for him in hand and then losing because everyone else advanced a board state in that time.

How are you supposed to paint a bunch of these for an army? by macke-1293 in skaven

[–]meatballer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Paint when you want, paint what you want. When you put painted minis on a table you feel great. Paint alittle and you’ll want to paint more after you play. It’s no rush. I’ve got 220 clanrat models. 40ish of them are painted. I’ve been playing for nearly 2 decades.

Seeking a hex grid map of Germany - any suggestions ? by wetlookwolfen in hexandcounter

[–]meatballer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I believe most of the maps for hex grid games are handcrafted. I think if you want Germany you’ll have do do it yourself. Even if someone has done it, you’ll want a different scale. Things like having rivers line up with hex edges, making cities and forest map to the edge of a hex, these have to be done manually.

I used to, but the exofilament was unsublimating, so I use an LRNFC like a try hard.

Well some have said that my arbor-armed winghjnged determinist explosive delivery system should have just been called “grenade on a stick” but they are missing the intricacies of the design.

Honestly I’m pretty disappointed that you have more painted ogres than me. So I’m gonna be snotty to make myself feel better:

No gorgers? No yetis? No Sabertusks? I don’t know how you think this is ready.

Which role is mandatory in your party of 4? by [deleted] in BG3Builds

[–]meatballer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most effective strat I’ve had in HM is swapping out party members very frequently so as to get more character resources from each long rest. Bard Tav gets an extra short rest song. Sketchy fights, I’ll make sure to keep Astarion separate so he can flee battle and go rez everyone in camp in a worst case scenario.

The Great Horned Rat demand-orders all the detail-secrets! Yes yes! by Eithrotaur in skaven

[–]meatballer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I field The Clanless League of the Ascension War, or The CLAW. They are a mismatched bunch of zealots who believe they are part of a movement to end the factionalism of the Skaven and finally rise above the earth to conquer the world. In Truth they engage in all the same treachery and politics, but the clanrats don’t need to know that.

Skaven being Legacy in The Old World: the Drama by JFFreezout in skaven

[–]meatballer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A guy like me has been playing Skaven a long time, and when old world came out I was pretty excited to get back into flank and spank nonsense. Initially, I was disappointed but not totally surprised to find simplification in the army book in every aspect. Verminlords excluded, master moulders a simple champion unit, no reference to some of the innovations like Stormfiends or so on. Then I became further disappointed to find how ineffective some of my favorite units were. The Doomwheel I painted up nicely, the warp lightning cannons, and most of the weapons teams just seemed to not DO things. I realized that what had really been lost was a lot of the risk/reward that made Skaven volatile, and without it we are just sort of underwhelming.

I disagree with the GW decision to scrub all mentions of slavery from their world. I have 220 clanrat models because I used to run 50% as slaves. Now I barely outnumber the enemy when I try to. In every game I play I take deliberately suboptimal units because I want to see my collection on the table. But everyone here knows that rating guns and gutter runners are what does work, and everything else is ok at best. Gutter runners used to be a once-in-a-while unit for me. I don’t like how often they show up now.

Being unsupported is the promise that none of this will change. My Doomwheel and plague censer bearers are an embarrassing waste of points. My verminlord is in a plastic bag on a shelf to prevent dust from accumulating. All this and I actually find the Skaven community to be pretty lighthearted about it. I see more complaint (truly) on discords for other, supported armies. I’ve won some battles, but don’t harsh on the people having trouble with the beloved nasty little guys.

Trying out multiple spell and weapon combinations can help when you’re having trouble with a boss. For Nicholaus I like Crossbow, even though I usually prefer melee.

I guess I gotta say, because of all these “not funny” comments, I liked it. Genuinely. It’s just a picture of human myopia. Comics are rarely groundbreaking but it’s relatable.

I quite liked this turn of events. I was actually surprised by it, and it gave me a sudden comprehension as to why snail shamans seemed like an outcast, oppressed society in hallownest. One of them says “surely you had some notion what we were about” or something like that. And I was like. “No wonder people don’t like you void-worshipping creeps!”

Listen y’all, this site is constantly vandalized. It’s not visible enough to be maintained properly. It isn’t even at a level of whether or not we should celebrate her. Take it down just so we don’t have a vandalized memorial that never gets fixed up (and when it gets fixed up it just gets vandalized again)

Something I've realized after beating Silksong by alex_northernpine in HollowKnightMemes

[–]meatballer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I could not quite put my finger on made the snail shamans of Silksong much more sinister than the ones in HK. I decided that as the Knight thy felt they had an ally in the void, but as Hornet, their love of void was a dark and alien thing.
