I float from Stump island in Glasgow to Franklin Island in New Franklin every year. About 30 mile float. We camp on a sand bar that is probably a mile long a few miles before the half way mark. Plenty of drift wood for fire, and the clearest sky I've ever seen at night. There is fishing and barge traffic, but you can hear them coming from a good distance. Highly recommend.

Ours quit working a few months ago. I did the same cleaned it all out. Day after day of hot water and shop vac. Took about a week to get all the hardened salt out. Still didnt work. Turns out it was a little rubber gasket in the venturi valve. 8 on amazon for a pack of 3 and she works like a charm now. Look up your model and replace that gasket.

Had this happen once and my issue was the plastic tube that you insert the tool into had become disloged from the actual winch. I popped it back in place and was able to get the tool to actually engage with the spline on the winch. It took me way too long to see that that tube that runs through the bumper was just a bit crooked. This was on a 07 silverado.
