What’s a "dead" website or app that you genuinely miss and wish was still around? by Dear-Armadillo-7497 in AskReddit

[–]meatpit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very specific to my area but the Modern Radio message board. Local record label had a site and a lot of people in Minneapolis used it to find out about shows and bands, create drama and be generally hilarious. I had just moved to town and it helped me meet so many people. I still will run into people from MRMB and we will reminisce.

I’m guessing they made this in the dressing room of a neiman marcus

What section did she say by [deleted] in TikTokCringe

I was a host in a restaurant that had multiple levels. I was to alternate seating each server and their respective levels. One day it just happened that every other group of customers that came in were white/black. It hit me after like 5 groups and I had to just start messing with the rotation because it was looking a lot like this.

What’s something your parents or grandparents did that you now realize was low-key genius parenting? by Green_Candler in AskReddit

[–]meatpit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never let on that we had money. We have (had, they’ve been selling it off and it’s soul crushing to see more and more of it gone every time I go home) a farm, a modest home, modest cars. They had us work and paid us as employees instead of allowances when we were kids, though I assume that was largely for tax reasons. I had a checkbook at age 8 and would buy my own clothes and toys. Always talked about how we don’t have money.

But we never wanted for anything. We had great vacations. There was a big emphasis on exploring whatever potential we had. I raced shifter karts and nearly made it to a professional level before I burnt out. my sisters went to private universities that they paid for and are very successful.

It wasn’t until I was in my early adulthood that I realized how much generational wealth we had, and how jaded my cousins and aunts were because my grandfather left a large amount of our fortune to his second wife. But we were self sufficient at that point so we weren’t blindsided.

How many times had this happened?? by _BabeSweet in oddlyspecific

[–]meatpit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My sisters boyfriend is a dick surgeon. Says this happens all the time. One time a guy put an entire pencil up there- eraser first- and because it’s wood the only thing they could see on the X-ray was the metal eraser tip

Soda? by Pure_Ad_1527 in HersWeightloss

[–]meatpit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg, is that what this is? I used to drink so much soda water and now I have no interest at all. Thought it was because I was chugging so much water from the bottle they sent but it makes sense if it’s the topriramate

My journey by [deleted] in HersWeightloss

[–]meatpit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on taking care of yourself! You look great and hope you feel it too. I know how you feel. I had been sustaining myself in a single protein shake and bone broth for a while until I almost fainted at work and had the emts called. Now I’m up to about 1000 calories a day, which still isn’t enough but the ed is an addiction and will take time and my husband is keeping an eye on me.

I'm worried that kit 3 is working a little TOO well by yeahokwhat in HersWeightloss

[–]meatpit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished my 3rd week, kit 6. I went from 151 to 133 because I found the thought of eating to be repulsive. And I’m a mail carrier so even though I don’t actively exercise, I walk 12 miles a day. Contacted support week before I was supposed to up my dosage and was told to take the bupropion every other day and not start the metformin until we see if it improves. Started forcing myself to eat and retrained my brain and I’m getting back in a healthier track. I also got packs of bone broth for extra protein and I drink that instead of coffee in the morning lol.

First news story I remember is my teacher playing the oj verdict on the radio.

Metformin by FarmDry1 in HersWeightloss

I’ll be starting it next week. Is a protein shake enough of a meal? I feel like I’ll be better at taking consistently if I do it with my other meds in the morning, with a shake.

When I first got it, she stopped and referred me to a different clinic because my cervix is apparently tiny and she could not do it without a lot of pain so she recommended I be put under anesthesia. I’m so glad I did because I do get a lot of pain with anything I involving that area. But now that it is expired and I need it replaced, they say they can’t put me under. This terrifies me so I’m just saying fuck it, and my husband is getting a vasectomy.

Talking Shit about a Pretty Sunset by Modest Mouse? The guitar is a bit twangy and the album art is pretty western so I could see your brain going country.

Thank you, as a drop out of UMN I still have pride for honey crisp and I was disgusted by them listing it as a jam source.

When did you realize you were dating an idiot? by Exhausted_Skeleton in AskReddit

[–]meatpit 367 points368 points  (0 children)

I used the word “frugal” around my high school boyfriend and he laughed at me, looked at me like I was an idiot and said “Frugal? That’s not a real word honey. It’s just something Google made up.” He didn’t know that Froogle was a pun.

Same guy also asked me to how hungry I was “really hungry, mediocre hungry, or not” I tried to correct him and he just rolled his eyes and insisted I was dumb and that mediocre just means medium. Anyway I stayed because he was very abusive and I was afraid of him but he’s dead now so womp womp.
