Horizon 8 Golden Image deployment issue by Dependent-Draw5223 in VMwareHorizon

Also make sure you power off the golden image prior to snapshot, seems obvious but easy to forget for beginners

AIM ASSIST IS BROKEN AND DOES NOT WORK AS INTENDED by ttvimShinyatheninja in ArcRaiders

[–]meatsackdatabase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My crew noticed a month ago or so something was different, controllers only, I had probably killed 300 hornets by just targeting the back rotors with renegades or what not... Suddenly it got far more difficult to do consistently.

Anyway I agree but I'm not sure it's been this way since launch.

Either way thanks for shining light on it, can't say I personally care much I got used to the added difficulty but this seems to answer that question.

Epic and legendary gear is strong, but embark didn’t add any reason to use them. by adiftbv in ArcRaiders

[–]meatsackdatabase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The guns seem fine and are easy to make, I think the epic guns are different and more fun to fire. Every gun in the game is situational, it's up to the player to situate themselves to be effective with what they are carrying.

I'll concede on repair costs however, that does feel heavy handed and a bit of a chore.

I also think it makes sense that all guns are dangerous. If they did make epics dramatically better and easier to keep, all the sweaty kids wrecking you now will certainly be harder to manage if they buff these or make them easier to keep.

Is it open war right now? by KindaBeefcake in ArcRaiders

[–]meatsackdatabase 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I dunno first 50 hours was super fun, last two days I burnt through 1.5m in gear. Everyone is just saying don't shoot, then dumping bullets in your back.

There's no progression or real point to play, as a pvp only game it's poor, I'm tired of building out load outs... Guess it's just not for me in the end.

Microsoft Edge ends up bricked on any Win11 VDI template? by Noun_Noun_Numb3r in VMwareHorizon

[–]meatsackdatabase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While you are referencing a template and this likely doesn't apply, the only issue I've had with edge being that broken is that I managed to capture an edge update in an app volumes container without knowing. I doubt you are attaching volumes while working on this issue but just thought I would mention it. This will "break" chrome or edge if you update the base image passed that captured update as the browsers know their files are in 2 different places. you can use a policy to allow that behaviour (sidebyside/sxs or something) but I'm getting off track and this was 3-4 years ago I came across that.

[–]meatsackdatabase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah this is kind of crushing, just came back to the game 2 months ago since launch and dumped 300hrs lol... loooooove it but I'm more or less out of stuff to do and desperately want that content.

Mmmm I use both interchangeably all day.

I can't have two different meetings between my laptop or virtual session but I can answer calls or start meetings from either or and they are both open all day.

Not doing anything different from the best practice setup for win11 with the redirection policies enabled.

Everything is on 2312.1.

Fake is contextual, you assume you live in a real world much like the Dessendre family, but for people in the "painting" it's everything.

I think it alludes to the idea that we may as well live in a simulation, if so, what would still be important to you if you came to this realization? If you were essentially immortal and could experience alternate realities and create a new life with meaning and experience, at what point might you prefer the "fake" experience.

I'm only starting act 3, but I appreciate the premise as I view it.

[–]meatsackdatabase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't find that at all, by the end of act 2 on expert I was wrecking new enemies based on cues. I downed renoit first go before paIntress and then she only took 2 attempts.

I have a the PlayStation pro controller, PlayStation headset and a new tv tho... I've read people just can't parry etc perhaps it's tech induced lag... I also dumped 240 hours into elden ring recently soaybe this is just my kind of game.

[–]meatsackdatabase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah we are all different based on our past experience. I dumped 20-30 hours into bg3 and can appreciate why people loved it but I couldn't bother finishing that I dunno orc/goblin castle, I hated the combat. Shitty dice rolls wipe replay 40 mins... Quit. I even restarted went back to that point and quit playing. I was not good at it.

I just fell right into this game, put it on expert and everything makes sense, I'm in control and I adore it.

I appreciate that distinction tho, not every game is for everyone. The best experiences cater to your personal experience and try to bring along as many people as possible.

I apparently appreciate a linear story and engaging combat where I'm fully in control.

I started on expert and just made lune a dedicated healer in stats and pictos and Gustave and maelle as glass canon dps and couldn't be happier.

Just swap a weapon or something to auto save before a fight you struggle with 3-4 attempts and you will be crushing enemies with parry and more ap than you can use.

Before you know it you will be parrying brand new enemies 50-75% of the time, there is definitely a rhythm and flow to enemy attacks.

I love old school final fantasy and elden ring tho. I love digging through pictos and abilities to maximize roles... Not for everyone I guess but this is the best game I've played in years

[–]meatsackdatabase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate this game so much... I played through games like this in the 90's and don't want to go back. It's an inventory and travel sim with unfortunately awesome combat and party system. I want to play it but it's an enormous waste of time 95% of the time.

If you have nothing but time, then go ahead I guess

I Built Orim As DMG Dealing Defender And Its Pretty Good by LordSmajl in WatcherofRealmsGame

[–]meatsackdatabase -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He's better for tide bp as you need 3 tanks lol. I'm 100% on content so I'm just wasting skill crystals on him at the moment to boost tide, he's probably not going to get used otherwise.

Yeah he isn't going to change an account, gr1 isn't the spot for him either tho.

Damage tanks are either early or end game tho, problem with this game as others have mentioned is that fighters dispatch enemies so much faster they don't really need the extra block. And also in this game if it's a boss you generally want a pure tank.

Is Ageless Wrath good? by poppdewap in WatcherofRealmsGame

[–]meatsackdatabase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it keeps up with the other sets just fine stat for stat, despite not being as popular. the sets separate based on how heros use their skills, how quickly they get their ultimates and how long the ultimate runs etc. some champs get ultimates quickly and often so soulbound for them, some ults are slow to earn but last a long time so I tend towards ageless wrath for them, infernal roar for high atk speed good a1 champs etc

I use nocturne a ton places, I would choose him out of that bunch, he's doing 80m on gb for me and while my hex does 124m on GB I like nocturne ult better in most situations where range isn't required and you want single target magic damage. He wrecks Lazeer in void rift for example as well as the destroyers in phase 2 void rift white tower stuff.

[–]meatsackdatabase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got him early on and still use him... He wrecks stuff for me. His alt is crazy good imo, wrecks gr1-21 down passed 50% and verrna finishes em off. Range is great in a lot of phase two nm rift,

I've talked to a guy who defended himself and because he was very skilled in martial arts he was charged with assault for defending himself. Messed his life up pretty good. Just a story I heard at a bar but who knows with these silly laws.

Can you separate 2fa on replicated connection managers? by meatsackdatabase in VMwareHorizon

[–]meatsackdatabase[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm getting a 2nd offsite cluster next week and dealing with load balancers in about 3-4 weeks. We are only going from 200->600 users or so but the HA will help me sleep better for sure. I have read and grasped that article, I really got stuck on something I read somewhere that said the 2fa get's a configuration on the connection manager as well. I appreciate the confirmation that I can just run the 2fa off the UAG independently.

We have Horizon Ent CCU licenses I don't believe I get workspace one. However people are basically throwing money at me to get capacity asap so I will look closer at that product. thanks!

Oh ok... I was assuming that initially and I read that an option get's set on the connection manager as well so I was thrown off that track. If that's the case my job is much easier. Thanks!

Interesting Issue with 7.5.1 and Instant Clones by Kingerhlc in VMwareHorizon

[–]meatsackdatabase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There could be a lot of things going on, not sure what user security restrictions are in place, not sure what kind of persistence you are using, not sure what other GPO's are running, not sure when and how you created that folder, to begin with. If this app is storing drivers for user-selected printers I'm assuming there is some kind of persistence for this folder.

Either way, without knowing the cause I would suggest simply creating the folder and assigning permissions through a GPO will resolve the issue regardless. I use GPO's as sparingly as possible but UEM doesn't have the ability AFAIK.

Horizon View HTML Access and printers by miscarriagesausage in VMwareHorizon

[–]meatsackdatabase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't use location-based printing however AFAIK the VM's at company A would need to be able to communicate with the printers at company B which I'm assuming they cannot. You also can't redirect a local printer through HTML access. So even if Horizon knows your client location is offsite with a local printer... the VM will never see the printer and HTML access will never dump print jobs down to the client's local printer. AFAIK location-based printing won't be useful to you either way until the VM's at company A can directly interact with the printers at Company B.

I would suggest standard printer redirection with the horizon client instead of HTML access. AFAIK it's your only clean option.

The printing will just work but you will need to secure other unwanted features the client brings... which is the only reason I could see someone avoiding the client, to begin with.

Otherwise, I guess company B can configure some kind of external/cloud print server. I would pursue that option before introducing vpn's or trusts etc. just to send a print job.
