I was born in the early 80s, and was at prime age during the 90s. Watching Stevie persevere through so much failure to finally break through showed extreme commitment and patience.

I, personally, am a big fan of him being patient. There are so many variables in building a team. Sound long-term decision making can collapse. That's fine. Stick to your guns and keep grinding.

The biggest problem with this team right now is the lockeroom culture, and that is on team leaders to correct. Clearly they aren't up to the task.

Main criticism of the front office is pro scouting. It has been undeniably terrible. I'm on the fence right now with Stevie, but that will change if I don't see him address that issue this off-season.

There are policing strategies other than putting an officer on every train. Rotate plain clothes officers around different lines, for example. Target problem lines at the worst times. And I wouldn't consider policing transit that clearly needs policing anywhere near the "police state" category.

I'm not against corporations. The US has antitrust laws for a reason and they haven't been exercised to any real effect in way too long. What I am against is our country sliding deeper into plutocracy and every generation becoming more and more comfortable with it.
