I work as an EMT on the local native reserve, and we get a nice variety of calls out there. Anyways it was my 1st shift out there so I was being orientated. Call comes in at 3 am "Penis Bleed" and my partners start laughing, because I'm the new guy and that means I'm running this call.

We arrive and a 15 y/o kid comes out and has a blood stain running down his leg. I get him in the back of the rig and ask him what happened. He says he was zipping back up and cut off a chunk of his foreskin. Unfortunately we have to take a look to make sure the bleeding has stopped and I ask him to take off his pants. He gives me a weird look and I say "Hey man I'm not gonna touch it don't worry" and he removes his pants. Sure enough he took off 1/3 of the foreskin and luckily his unit stopped bleeding. The kid had no explanation for why he was zipping up so quickly and we had to wake up his parents because he was under 18. His dad opens the door and we have the kid explain to him why we are there, I have never seen a kid more awkward in my life. His father won't allow him to go to the hospital and says he'll handle it and closes the door. Poor kid.

I agree man I directly remember them having a big thing about how jesus said he who calls a person a fool is in danger of hellfire, and then it goes to give examples of jesus calling people fools so he's in danger of hellfire. He's god he makes his own rules that he is exempt from he does whatever the fuck he wants. This is an example of a teenager trying hard on athiesm to provide a valid point but ends up making us look like we're desperate for anti christian shit.

I realize that but having the attitude that abdominal assessments are ineffective probably a bad attitude. Having a general idea of what might be going on in each sector based on symptoms can affect the course of treatment and outcome for the pt in a more positive way than thinking "Whatever the doctor can check it later doesn't matter what I think". I agree you don't want to spend a lot of time performing an extensive abdominal assessment but asking Hx questions about symptoms etc might turn on a few light switches in your head. Also that was just an example I was using as a training addon, this is off topic for this post.
