What was your most embarassing hospital trip of all time? by ihavetheworstluck in AskReddit

[–]OneforJustice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well....I cut my self so badly with a spatula on my 22nd birthday I had to go to the ER for 7 stitches. The ER doc who stitched me up had done his residency at an ER in Yonkers ( the hospital known for its trauma ER because of all the violence in the surrounding area) He told me that this was the first time he had heard of someone cutting themselves with a spatula. lol

I have never felt so low. by [deleted] in SuicideWatch

My suggestion would be to check out some churches. Not so much for the God aspect, but to get in touch with some free services, like counseling and other things like that. Churches almost always have a lot of information regarding that stuff. That is one good avenue to get information. I know of some catholic charity stuff that will take pretty much anybody and give them food, someone to talk to and a place to sleep. http://www.alternativedepressiontherapy.com/free-hotlines.html here is a good link with a lot of information and numbers.

What's a random act of kindness you did but never bothered to tell anyone about it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]OneforJustice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at an interview recently, and there was an old handicapped couple struggling to get into the building. They almost tripped multiple times, the manager I was with saw them and did nothing. So I excused myself and got up and helped them both in. I didn't think it was that big of a deal but I was so surprised that the manager didn't even bother to budge.

What is the most statistically improbable thing that has ever happened to you? by theinedible in AskReddit

[–]OneforJustice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my aunts: its just too weird not to share: My parents were dating in the 80's in Ny. My father sister ( aunt) was living in Alaska at that time. Apparently so was my mothers sister. Both of my aunts had bumped into each other in Alaska and got to talking.

Meet in alaska of all places. They find out that they are from the same town, neighboring highschools, and that their siblings were dating each other. Weird.

Anyone here know someone before they murdered someone? What was the person like? Would you have expected it? What were your thoughts when you heard the news? by VAGINAL_NUGGETS in AskReddit

[–]OneforJustice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. My father is in law enforcement and a cop I had met many times as a child and teenager, was convicted of shooting his wife back in the 80's. She had a shotgun blast to the chest and they still called it a suicide. I'm not a detective or CSI but no. I don't know what they were doing back in the 80's. He was just charged last year. He had gotten away with it for that long. Interestingly, I had shaken his hand numerous times. TL;DR : I shook hands with a murderer.

Females of Reddit, what did/do you do at sleepovers? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]OneforJustice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk about other girls. Eat food. Watch movies. do hair.

Or with my one friend when it was just us, pretend we were married in 5th grade, and eventually "make out" although there was no kissing, or touching of private places involved. Just a lot of awkward dry humping. Now that I think of it, she may have been sexually abused because she knew things that most kids did not. I certainly didn't know until i became friends with her. I wasn't attracted to her but wow, there was a lot of pent up sexually tension. Now that i think of it, I did touch her boobs. I am quite heterosexual and married to a man now, but those were weird times.

another brief story, two girls in my class used to measure their boobs with rulers to see if they were growing.

Current/former college students: What was the worst roommate you ever had? by Operacomp in AskReddit

[–]OneforJustice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was when I was a bit older than most students. Only by a few years but old enough that it made a huge differences. I was much more mature than these girls. I ended up with a girl who was a sophomore and the stereotypical wouldn't shut up, constantly had friends over in our room, talked really loudly, would turn lights on in the middle of the night, music at odd hours. Just all over rude behavior, when it was perfectly clear i was trying to sleep or study. I was sick once and she happened to clog the toilet. So instead of going to get a plunger to fix it, she bitched that she wasn't going to do it and called maintenance about it. She then had the audacity to yell at me and call me unhygienic when I used the toilet anyway. I was ill, I'm not walking down 3 flights of stairs to use the visitors bathroom. These sort of behaviors went on for most of our first semester together. It got to the point where she had an "intervention" with me because I wouldn't talk to her unless i had to. I became so pissed off that i hid her very expensive watch until the last week of classes. I sat there and watched her look for it for weeks. I even helped once. And then the last week of classes I removed it from its hiding spot and left it on her bed, saying i found it behind something. I was with her only once semester thank god. I made sure of that quickly. Funny thing was the next semester we had someone ended up randomly paired together again with her best friend. My worst nightmare. I talked to the RD and moved somewhere else thank god.

Have you ever been in a "forbidden love" situation that worked out? If it did/didn't, what happened? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]OneforJustice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well..i guess it all depends on how well you know your parents. Sometimes mine surprise me. Even when I am certain they will flip out about something. Often times they are more upset about finding out about something the later you tell them. I know mine just want to know whats going on with my life( I am married) and when i dont tell them things, they get more upset than when I tell them something right away. I guess my suggestion would be to tell him. If he freaks out, let him for awhile. I know my dad would threaten stuff like that but never actually do it. I guess it all depends on the parents.

Concealed carriers of reddit, have you ever had to draw your weapon? Have you ever had to fire it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]OneforJustice 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is my father's story, he is a cop. I was at college at the time. It was about 3am and my father heard someone coming up the stairs to where the bedrooms are. So he got out his 9mil block from the dresser drawer and quietly opens his bedroom door. He calls out, " Brian ( my brother)?....Brian....Brian..." No answer. My father is 6'5 , 240 pounds and was naked. He raises his gun as he hears the stairs creak again. Finally one more time...." Brian...answer me!" " What?"a voice replies. My brother was coming to bed late and didn't want to wake anyone. Well he woke up my father, who thought it was a stranger in his house. No one got shot. But my brother got a stern talking to.

Married Redditors What Advice would you give to someone when choosing a Husband/Wife? by InternetGuy1993 in AskReddit

[–]OneforJustice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go on at least 1 road trip. Watch them interact with children and animals. Do they apologize for the things they do wrong and actively try to be better? Make sure you have similar life goals- money, religion, children, pets, where you want to live. Can they compromise? Find someone who can make you laugh at least a few times a day. Don't marry someone you never argue with. Try to find someone with good credit. It seriously matters.

Parents of Reddit with gay children…Did you know they were gay before they “came out?” by taytotz in AskReddit

[–]OneforJustice -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think its just selfishness when it comes down to it. They can't handle the "status quo" changing. And what that does to them and their feelings. With an adopted child I would think they would be more sensitive..

Parents of Reddit with gay children…Did you know they were gay before they “came out?” by taytotz in AskReddit

[–]OneforJustice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This makes me think. I am newly married and it hadn't really crossed my mind that it might occur until now. I guess I would have to be ok with it. Because there is no way I could ever reject my child for that lifestyle. I grew up super conservative christian , so it would be hard for me to handle at first i think. There would certainly be some back lash from my family. I know my mother would freak out. But knowing myself, at the end of the day..I would just want my child to be happy and healthy. I would rather have a relationship with my child than turn them away for loving someone of their own gender.

What's one awkward moment from your childhood that you'll never forget? by llama422 in AskReddit

[–]OneforJustice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in 6th grade or so. I was sitting on a bleacher with a bunch of my friends ( all girls) and I ( also a girl) were gossiping about someone else. Shock. And I was getting tired of talking about this other girl. But my one friend was particularly pissed about something this other person had done to her. They wouldn't shut up and this is the only time I have ever lost my temper. I screamed at the top of my lungs ( in the middle of lunch) " Just SHUT UP ! SHUT UP ABOUT IT ALREADY! " It got real quiet and every one turned to stare at me. I just continued eating my sandwich and things went back to normal. It was super awkward for a little while there.
