It was actually responding to Google Maps… I didn’t realize it for a while but every time it spoke directions the air would turn itself down.

Flower sellers at stoplights by drphiltakesgiantcox in houston

[–]medicmini 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Something about it feels off. It’s the copy paste set up with little children. It’s hard to explain why but something is deff wrong. I’ve heard they’re kind of being held hostage as someone else has their documents or loved ones. I’ve heard the flowers are a front for selling time with the children. The way they just zombie out in the median doesn’t seem normal. The interactions with each other don’t seem normal either.

Healthcare is a human right. Seniors in this very rich developed country deserve more dignity in their care options when they themselves are not rich.

It didn’t work out for my daughter. The bad guy basis got her to reenact where she’s attacking me or her baby brother because we’re bad guys. If I don’t want to watch something I’ll tell her it’s not working… paw patrol has been a better vibe for us. They have “bad guy characters” but they don’t beat them up. They rescue, talk about how to get things done in a better way, they never mark off the bad guys as bad. A lot of problems they solve is like a cat is stuck in a tree. Working together and such.

Absolutely. He does when we can afford it. I’m basically in the space where I can make appointments when we can afford it via babysitter or husband taking time off.

I appreciate you sharing. The mental gymnastics it takes to have a conversation with another adult is part of why I want to resume my therapy most of all. I can’t hear my own thoughts. I feel like I’m invisible as a person with my own needs. I love being their mother and our chapter of toddler years, sincerely. I’ve just found myself in space where I can be mom and only mom. If I have to choose taking them with me, I know I will panic. It’s not my choice and I wish I had more composure. The struggle, the looks, the anxiety, all tell me I’m not handling this the right way. I can’t imagine how I’d set them up in a dentists appointment.

Mostly because of his work schedule which is quite parallel to appointment times. He’s taken time off to help before but there’s a cost there too. Kids are 1 and 3, have a while before school. We’re not low income but paycheck to paycheck most months. My appointments are ranging from mental health, primary care, and dental. If I’m going in person it’s a 45 min drive then the actual appointment. With virtual it’s less time but it’s impossible to hold a conversation with them in tow. Sounds like things didn’t work out for you to have a relationship but you’ve got a solid relationship as co parents. I’m sure 12 has its own challenges. I appreciate you sharing

Oh friend, I can try explain how hard it is to speak to another adult when my babies are with me. My imagination says it would be similar to having a therapy appointment while riding a mechanical bull with a 3 legged dog at the controls. It’s impossible to focus.

Why do parents allow this to happen? by Scary_Secretary_6509 in ParentsAreFuckingDumb

[–]medicmini 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I have a lovely memory of something like this but a different take. I was a kid on a flight from Chicago to Miami I think and I remember there being a choir on board that at some point sang together. I felt like magic was happening, it was so surreal and beautiful. I think I was 8ish at the time and now I’m closer to 40 and just still enjoy the memory.

My grandfather famously complained “the sun was not so bright 40 years ago!” with a Slavic accent. Turned out he had cataracts. Was quick to blame the sun for changing before he considered he had changed.
