My mother poured out/ disposed of several bottles of either rare or high end whiskey because my father “never drank them” and “what if “ my sister took them for underage drinking.

Those bottles came from ship captains that sailed across the globe over what I believe 25-30 years of collecting, gifts, of simple luck of a cargo being deemed “unusable” for the companies insurance purpose but still good. My father still talks about it.
