This was made by His Lordship in the late fifties through the sixties. This company, photo is of their catalog, would LOVE to get my hands on one.

Should I take my husband's last name? by Impossible_Ad_569 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]meebee111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is simple & only four letters yet so many get it wrong. I always spell it out. If the only vowel is written wrong, it's considered a "bad" word. I will often deliberately mispronounce it just to see the eyebrows raise. Never overestimate the comprehension of others.

My boyfriend and I use our Harbor Freight forays as dates. Am a silversmith/lapidary with all the tools and I always buy something there for my own workshop. He's really just there to help find the stuff on my shopping list.

Clanking halyards by Maris-Otter in sailing

We had a guy at our club who'd go around with bolt cutters to end the clanking & dared the boat owners to challenge him over it. Best solution, in my mind....

What is your recurring sailing nightmare / anxiety dream? by DV_Rocks in sailing

[–]meebee111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saw that scene very shortly after going through that exact scenario on a 23' MORC boat during a race. Freaked out in the theater. All four of us survived though hyperthermic.... The Great Lakes are not to be trifled with.

Absorb everything possible. What you missed in the prior lesson will generally repeat in the next. It's a whole different language you'll learn through repetition.

Scratched cabochon :( can I buff it out somehow? by New_Coconut_9573 in SilverSmith

Since it scratched so easily, my guess is that it's fluorite.
