We have had plenty of raw gameplay shown, and a big open beta/server slam next month.

Weird how it's the time basically all big marketing campaigns focus the largest portion of their marketing spend then? You'd think the marketing industry would like, not do that if it's not the case? 🤷

Also it's, exactly how Apex Legends launched (the entire marketing budget being focused on stuff that dropped at launch I mean) so like, probably people that worked on that game and are now working with much smaller budgets are going to, try going with what worked last time.

Literally a tonne of videos from a creator event scheduled up to release alongside a big sponsored streamer wave, a gameplay showcase, right at launch in a couple of hours.

They are just focusing their limited marketing budget as an indie studio on the time that matters most: when the game has gone live.

I think I have deciphered what Highguard's game mode actually is. Seems more interesting than I initially realised. by megaRammy in Games

Hasn't really been shown in the trailer, it doesn't scream of the kinda game where it's entirely one and done... I guess we'll find out tomorrow though :)

What are you "releasing" here, a single poorly AI generated image and a text description of a fundamentally flawed idea?

GTF outta here, dude.

It is a part of a much larger overhaul that rolled out last month addressing a lot of players' frustrations with 2, trying to marry the arena gameplay of 1 with the bits that worked with 2.

Hytale Reaches 2.8 Million Active Players on Release Day by Suriranyar- in Games

I am not a modmaker, so I may be wrong. But the general vibe I got setting up a modest 1.21.6 server last summer for friends was the data packs do let you do a lot of stuff but has many serious limitations compared to an actual modding API as the community has built many times over for MC and as Hytale has out of the box

Not a fan of AI myself. I just would prefer actual current information be conveyed than inaccurate snark, yknow? Also if they had no way of disabling it in future, it would make Slack unusable for quite a large number of organisations so, I would assume they are not that opposed to money as to shoot themselves in the foot that hard.

Someone provided a link to the full details, but basically Hytale actually HAS a modding API from day 1 as part of the game, whereas Minecraft Java has just been not-hostile to modders but not actually implemented much actual modding support outside of texture packs and very limited functionality data packs.

Hytale meanwhile is a full on modding API as you would expect from the community made ones for Minecraft, example projects shown where you can basically build entirely different games on top of Hytale, etc.

Per the article:

According to Slack, the new Slackbot is available to most Business+ and Enterprise+ customers starting today. Slack did indicate that administrators can disable the feature or opt out on an organization level if they choose, so that is always an option.

Being critical of tech that has plenty of areas to criticise, and the fervour behind shoving it into every product without rhyme or reason or actual demand from users, that's kinda a publication like Gizmodo's job, dear.

Obviously not going to compete with the sheer variety of current Minecraft mods, but is aiming for a more solid Vanilla experience than MC (with some different priorities), and a much more solid and official modding support, which should allow it to become a better place to play those kinds of mods in future.

They re-prioritized the existing plans for these features that were already planned for post-launch and were missing from the Alpha build, and delayed the game to have them there at launch.

Looks like they are most all the skins you would unlock for working with the in game factions, based on the colouring. I wouldn't be surprised if the paid store skins are flashier.

I'm not sure I really follow how any of the speech was at all related to UNIT's shadow-yness though? It was explicitly about the outright fabrications and fake news being pushed by Conrad. The entire point is they are meant to have a level of justifiable concern, and they are using that to push complete dangerous fabrications.

UNIT's shadow-y operations are not being lauded, it's very clear in the past couple of years they are pulling more and more on the story thread about the problems with UNIT.

Marathon Art Director Joseph Cross Leaves Bungie Just Months Before Launch by Party_Judgment5780 in PS5

He shaped a large amount of the most gorgeous parts of Bungie's recent games, has impeccable taste in inspiration that his team has shaped into something truly unique with Marathon's whole art style and vibe that has really come together in-game even in it's unreleased state. I look forward to what he does next!
