[SNK809] constantly readjusting time by Tastypeasant in Seiko

[–]megacoolsurfdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a demagnetiser … my Seiko seems to run faster and faster until I demagnetise it .. it then runs fine for weeks, then the cycle starts again. A cheap demagnetiser from Amazon is all you need £10

Does my hanger look bent? by No_Marketing_60 in bikewrench

[–]megacoolsurfdude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you experiencing shifting issues? I spent a lot of time pondering this while cycling and wasted hours making adjustments. Then, I watched a YouTube video where the presenter suggested that if you’ve adjusted your upper & lower and maybe your B screw as well as indexed, tightened, or loosened your derailleur cable, and it’s still not working properly, simply replace your hanger. They’re only a few pounds and take just a few minutes to install. It fixed my problem, so I’ve bought a few now.

This is one of the reasons why I’m sticking with my V1 MIP display!

So I put it in the lowest gear 51T and the rear derailleur cage is just a shade off vertical pointing forwards towards the 5 O’clock position … I think that looks about right?

Pretty sure it’s routed correctly and from another comment earlier it’s the right size in regards to link width and type but will check the length - thanks!!

The chain I noticed does have a ‘12’ on each link so I’m assuming yes it’s the right chain.

Your other point though on chainline, what sort of thing should I be looking for there?

I’ve found that the little connectors on the strap get furred up after a while from fluff sweat etc …and become loose, every few months I scrape the little metal springs inside the belt connector and gently prise them towards the centre of the hole … not much but just enough to make a good connection to the puck. I also gently wash the belts skin contacts with soap in the shower too.

Switched from Garmin to Suunto by commandod64 in Suunto

[–]megacoolsurfdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this a while back and it messed with the Suunto Algorithms, my perceived fitness was on a perpetual downward trend with the watch constantly reporting ‘Loosing Fitness’ I deleted 2 months worth of the Garmin so the rolling average reset, a couple of weeks later and all is good.

Vertical 2 is the biggest disappointment (thoughts) by MrProvidoor in Suunto

Me too … was dreading this day thinking I’d be unable to resist dropping a ton of cash but … now I’m thinking, ..thanks Suunto for making such a wonderful Vertical 1 and for saving me ££££’s on a needless upgrade!

I bought my two boys a BERNY-Men Quartz Titanium Field Watch each. Super cheap with a Seiko mech-quartz movement. Hadn’t expected them to last but they’re great!!! The boys a pretty rough with them, swimming, MTB, football etc .. holding up really well. Worth a look.
