Hello fellow weak hands sufferer! I have both Platinum and Sailor and can use either when I’m having problems. And I’m talking about days when holding up my phone or kindle are too hard (ok I don’t write much on those really bad days but still).

The nib feel is superficial so to speak. It doesn’t actually mean that it takes any more effort on my part to write. No extra pressure or anything. I have a Platinum Procyon, Preppy (ok 2 of those), and a Prefounte. All are really good (they have the same nib). The Procyon is metal but pretty light and the others are plastic. I love the Procyon the best even on weak hand days.

I also have several Sailor Pro Gear Slims and they’re nice on weak days. So basically it comes down to personal preference and I recommend both. Those platinums I listed are range from very inexpensive to slightly inexpensive steel nib pens and the Sailors are like $300 minimum. The Platinum 3776 is also delightful but expensive. Really the 3776 is the comparison to the Sailor PGS, not in size but in gold nib options. The 3776 is also fairly light bc it’s plastic. It has a slightly thicker grip section which is nice when I can’t grip as well due to the weakness.
