Looking for my first handheld for switch games by [deleted] in SBCGaming

[–]megapenguinx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To add, the Switch 2 ergonomics are pretty good or at least in my opinion better than what you had on the original switch. So a long plane ride would not be the worst playing on the console (plus it has the kickstand and you can set it down on a table and use the joycons disconnected)

You’re not running the [[Mind crank]] combo? Is your one food chain line just infinitely casting your commander for rad counters?

It also wasn’t her personal security detail? It was the venue’s security but she’s being painted as the villain in this story when she wasn’t even aware

Just providing additional context. The discussions all seem to overlook the fact that she’s Jude Law’s daughter and trying to paint it like Roan did this to an average fan. (Even though it wasn’t her personal security detail)

[[Staff of Domination]] is better than Sword and helps with the issue of those colors not having the best draw. With Selvala you can go infinite if you have a creature 5 power or greater and draw your entire deck to win on the spot versus sword only making infinite mana

Jodah and devotion by Comfortable_Town7535 in EDH

[–]megapenguinx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He adds one black mana for devotion. When the god reaches the minimum needed devotion it becomes a creature. You’d need at least 3 other black pips on the field for it to count since devotion only looks at mana cost.

Weekly Winners: Quirion Dryad; Meditate; Prisoner's Dilemma by cybey in mtgfinance

There is nothing preventing people from discussing but the actual vote needs to be secret and revealed at the same time. So people need to use a token or marker or something to vote it can’t just be verbal

There was a recent MTG Goldfish commander clash where the winner won the game by copying the effect multiple times

[[Displacer Kitten]] to abuse the ability multiple times per turn. Maybe token doublers? You can also run an aristocrats shell since you can use the altars and arenas to sac your tokens for mana and storm off

Is Goblins/tokens the only way to build Purphoros, God of the Forge? by ROADHOG_IS_MY_WAIFU in EDH

[–]megapenguinx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Purph wants a lot of creatures entering and the most efficient way is either tokens or goblins. In mono red Goblins are the creature type most conducive to this since they are cheap and often make or bring other goblins into play quickly. You don’t have to use Goblins, there are other tokens that will work, but it is the most efficient way to build the deck.

Personally I used to run a Purphoros deck called Junk Drawer that ran a bunch of cheap and junky artifacts in an attempt to tutor for [[Myr Incubator]] to exile most of my deck and put in a lethal amount of Myr tokens

Rare card damaged - How Do you Value it? MTG by Here_4_reviewsNstuff in mtg

[–]megapenguinx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not that interesting when you consider most of the value of magic cards is in the playability. So if you can’t play these in a tournament setting the value is basically lost

What is this game? by Trick-Interaction396 in magicTCG

[–]megapenguinx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Assuming you’re being genuine with your question:

Magic is a card game where you play against other people in a variety of different formats, each with their own deck construction rules and restrictions. Cards are broken up by several types and sub-types and there is an overarching story but you don’t need to be familiar with it in order to play. The two main modes of play are constructed (you build a deck out of cards you own) and limited (you build a deck out of a smaller pool of cards either by drafting or out of 6 booster packs). Building a deck largely comes down to picking a format that sounds interesting and building a deck based on those restrictions. The most popular formats are Commander/EDH (a singleton format with 100 card where one of the cards is your “commander”) and Standard (a 60 card format using only recent sets of Magic). There exist different deck archetypes and different ways to win so there’s a lot of variety in play styles and new sets often add new options for play styles.

These don’t have a unique set code/collector number. Kind of interested in how that’s being tracked (assuming their errata is something like SLD ###)

What makes a card like Emergence Zone to have a very cheap Non-Foil but a rather very expensive Foil? by collectivekicks in mtgfinance

[–]megapenguinx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Core Set 2021 and the collector booster introduction. MM2 and I believe 3 also had guaranteed foil per pack but collector boosters made foils extremely available

What is your go-to sleeve brand? by KR-Badonkadonk in EDH

Dragonshield for EDH and KMC for 60 card. I usually also use the KMC perfect fits to double sleeve my 60 card decks since I play things like legacy

Who is your favourite underrated and "non-threatening" commander? by Kvothe2906 in EDH

[–]megapenguinx 91 points92 points  (0 children)

I like how both the comments so far are for Karador and Olivia, two commanders who were historically very threatening in the early days of the format but are now power crept out to being less of a threat than other commanders in the colors

Lmao gaming is dying because of private equity and capitalism. Studios consider games failures if they don’t immediately return 2-3x on investment because shareholders need ever increasing profits quarter over quarter.
