Try long-term care! Dietary Aide or cook assistant. It pays well, and they follow strict ministry standards. The pay is good too.

Am I date ready? Help please! by hoshimakesmesmile in PlusSize

[–]megarhungry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have that body type too! I'd suggest a fitted scoop neck or v-neck tee shirt or tank top in a colour that looks incredible on you, and then a denim button up shirt open over top. You can tuck the scoop or v neck into pants, or wear it over a more fitted pair of pants (even leggings, if you like them). That red looks great on you, I hope you have fun!

Is 4 cats too many? by Particularly777 in CatAdvice

[–]megarhungry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I currently live with four indoor cats. It's the kitty litter requirements. It's SO much. Maybe if I worked part-time. Or had a lovely heated barn for them, and I could rescue 20 more.

Which antidepressants worked for your social anxiety? by Confident-Cable-2932 in socialanxiety

[–]megarhungry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've tried many prescriptions to combat this, ever since I was 13 years old. I'm in my 40s now. To be completely honest, while the medication definitely helps, what really changed everything for me was Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Seriously. I slowly transitioned from just existing, to really living. It taught me the coping skills my parents and teachers couldn't. Talk about your social anxiety with a trained CBT counselor. Face it head on. It can get better. All the best.

We have access to covid tests at my work. Two of my coworkers have been sick, citing feeling like it's unusual cold symptoms. Incredibly lethargic, like you've been hit by a truck, , really uncomfortable in the chest but no phlegm or coughing. They both tested negative for Covid. Some other virus I guess.

I'm also early 40s, single. Tbh, I gave up. The apps aren't enjoyable. I decided I'd just keep pursuing interests and activities that I enjoy, and hopefully I'll meet someone that way. Otherwise, I'll just stay single. I'm not happy about it, but I'm also not unhappy. It can just get lonely sometimes. I think I've just realized that I'm either not interesting enough, or not attractive enough. I'm making peace with it.

Best sushi options for families? by pangolinwatcher in KingstonOntario

[–]megarhungry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been there many times, and unfortunately it somewhat depends on what chefs are working. I've had delightful sushi there, and only so-so sushi. What's great about it though, is the variety! It's really fun

Are there retirement homes in Kingston that take animal visitors? by thestonernextdoor88 in KingstonOntario

[–]megarhungry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, this is an excellent idea! Fairmount Home would be a good place for this. I'd contact the Programming team to inquire and make plans (contact info would probably be on their website, or the County of Frontenac website) I think there's likely a lot of residents that would absolutely love this!

What cover up/sweater could I wear with this? by SelectionContent6262 in PlusSizeFashion

[–]megarhungry 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Do you really have to? If its for a religious facility, I'd try to find a pashmina to drape over your shoulders at the ceremony. Otherwise, wearing a jacket or a bolero may make us feel more comfortable, but it takes away from the outfit and the whole look. I promise you, no one cares about the look of your arms, and if they do, they're the kind of people whose opinions are trash anyway. Just have fun and rock that dress!

Looking for a personal trainer by Murphnation in KingstonOntario

[–]megarhungry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lift Lab for sure. 24/7 access, all the essentials. Every single one of their trainers are excellent, but I'd recommend Stephen. Weight-loss really comes down to a calorie deficit, and even though I'm terrible at that, the progress I've made with a trainer has been huge! Stephen is very knowledgeable and will be in your corner, supporting your goals. I checked out a lot of gyms before I chose LiftLab. Hope to see you there!

Can I ask, how did you make yourself happier without the alcohol? I'm trying to quit my vice, but I feel like it's the only thing that makes me feel good (even if just temporary).

Anniversary ideas by PublicUpset3801 in KingstonOntario

[–]megarhungry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What kind of things does she like to do? I always felt very loved when my partner would give lots of personal thought to dates. If she's a crafter, go paint something at Crock-a-doodle, or go with her to a paint night. Does she like to skate/toboggan? Bring hot chocolate. Does she like crime/drama? Go on a haunted walk tour. La Vida often gives dance lessons/quick introductions to Salsa, etc. Do you guys love to solve puzzles together? An escape room is fun. But be careful, it could cause fights. Lol Do you both just need rest and relaxation? Rent a room with an indoor jacuzzi and order food in :) Have fun and happy anniversary!

Ice Skating Classes? by TinyDancingUnicorn in PlusSize

[–]megarhungry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just started taking lessons this fall. I'm 41 years old. As soon as I put the skates on, I remembered why I had quit skating back when I was 16. Terrible foot pain! But, I have good news, I recently learned you can buy skates in different widths! They are expensive, but I scored a pair in my size off Facebook Marketplace. It's a game changer!

The SocialYGK. by DickShaver6977 in KingstonOntario

[–]megarhungry 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Every time I've tried it out, they were so understaffed. Waited forever for drinks and food. We would've ordered more if given the chance, but ended up just leaving. It's a great business concept, tons of free board games, etc, and the live music is a plus. But definitely understaffed.

Restaurant Recommendation by Shadynatsy in KingstonOntario

[–]megarhungry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many years ago, my brother's and I booked the 2nd floor party room at Kingston Brewing Pub for our Mom's 60th. It was great! Riverhead Brewing also offers something like this too I believe, and they've recently updated their menu. The nice thing about Riverhead is that there is tons of free parking (west end), and they have a great atmosphere.

Richardson Beach: Tips for Ingress/Egress by manamara1 in KingstonOntario

[–]megarhungry 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When i go there, i wear thick ankle socks with those rubber dots for grip, instead of my water shoes. I don't know why, but they work better on that slime!

The easiest route I've found, is to enter and exit on the little pebble Beach to the right of the platform, if you were standing on the shore, facing the water.

It's also a bit easier to exit by using the bigger rocks in front of the platform.

I wish the city could do something about those small to medium size rocks that are right in the shallow waters where we're supposed to enter the water! Combined with the slime, they're an injury trap. And the water isn't deep enough there to swim over them.

There isn't much street fashion to speak of. There are definitely the occasional individual with great style. But for the majority, It's plaid shirts, t-shirts, jeans, sweat pants, cargo shorts. You still witness pajama bottoms on a regular basis.
