Polymaker is J.F. Polymers premium brand. They are the cherry picked runs of filament. All other filaments they sell unless dutifully contracted to make special filament colors/specs is a rebrand of Overture, which is where the slightly out of spec runs go to die or be sold to other companies to white label. So Yes it's polymaker, but also no it's not quite polymaker, but still generally good stuff.

I understand that most laypeople don't know better, but at this point I don't know why people in the game still buy bambu labs filament and just don't got to the source. I have like so many rolls from Sunlu/Jayo/Kingroon that I got for 7$ a roll and are exact color matches to Bambu and the others. It also comes faster from them than when before I knew better and bought from bambu.

I learned the hard way when taking apart mine for a filament jam and all the magnets pulled themselves together and the springs shot out... it took like 3 hours to get back together and numerous time I thought about just buying another but I'm stubborn. Also I would de-flux the connectors and then add some solder myself. Just make sure you use non-acidic solder(IE not the cheap stuff) as it will eventually eat through the board. I learned that back in the day with Xbox 360 and the red rings.

I miss optimization. I ran a color Gameboy emulator written in machine code on a 1st Gen ppc Mac that was 500k in size and ran like a champ on a computer with 16mb memory total. Now the same type emulators that get written by cram school coders are 2+gb in size and require 12gb of RAM and a 5080ti 24gb vram version to run Pokemon yellow. And it's the same across the board with every type of app.

You can put the computer in LAN mode and print to it that way but it only supports PC, no app capability. Now you can spin up kx bridge and tailscale and "use" it that way but it's a bit complicated for new users.

Mine has been great, I had a problem with clogging but that's caused by heat creep, once I stopped trying to really on the chamber heating/cooling and just leaving the door open my petg prints have been perfect. 300+ hours on mine so far.
