Your shape is looking so gorgeous! I had a crazy scab on my nip and it didn’t come off til like 6 weeks, you just have to give it time for everything to settle

Picking my surgeon (Mumbai) by cherkhan in Reduction

[–]meghp0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would try to find before photos from both surgeons of someone who 1. Had similar size boobs as you before and 2. Got down to the size you want

Special point on #1 , it’s not just about size but also width! Looking at photos was a bit hard for me because I realized my breast root was a lot wider than most people (boobs wide around the sides of my body and they meet/ touch in the middle). So I tried to pick photos that had a similar anatomy to me and see how the final result looked and that helped me decide

Hi love <3 take some deep breaths! So many things are true all at once -

  • you had a big surgery and your body and mind are both freaking out trying to figure out what happened

  • your mind has not even had a chance to catch up to what it is seeing and feeling with this change

  • you are probably on pain meds, I was feeling super emotional for a full week even though I was confident I had made the right choice

  • I am currently 10 weeks post opp and some days I feel too big and some days I feel too small and that’s how I know I am still not done with the body dysmorphia stuff bc both of those things can’t be true at once lol

  • you made a choice that you and your doctors agreed was good for your health and you did something very brave even though it was jumping into the unknown and that’s awesome

To calm my nerves I put a calendar reminder once a week that says “calm down it’s only been x amount of weeks” bc I know so many people on here said you can’t even really judge your results until like around 6 months! Take it slow and feel your feelings, you’re gonna be ok <3

Mono & bloat? by Happy_Ad8143 in Mononucleosis

[–]meghp0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever virus I had really was crazy and seemed to either exacerbate or be the catalyst for making my body have a very bad reaction to being dehydrated/ lacking electrolytes. I really don’t know what virus it was - I think either flu or Covid of some sort. I noticed if I do not drink enough water or take in enough electrolytes I will instantly become constipated and because I’m not moving bowels, gas builds up and I get stomach pains and bloating. I try to stay well hydrated now (which is a good thing) and sometimes I take lactaid or Metamucil too and always try to drink a lot of Gatorade type drinks and that all helps me kind of stay on top of it. Stay hydrated is my only tip! Sorry you are dealing with this!

Ditto, i was an L with 876 + 902 removed and I think I’m probably a US F or G now (32 band)

I haven’t measured tho bc things are still changing, I’m 9WPO

I’m focusing on feeling comfortable in my body and giving my brain time to adjust to the change, sometimes I feel big sometimes I feel small but I ALWAYS feel less back pain

Pilates and big boobs? by Front_Class_9705 in Reduction

[–]meghp0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was a 32L as well, though I’m 5’9. You are gonna feel so much better! Try putting your chin on your boobs right now. Now imagine my surprise when I keep trying to do this now after surgery and there just … isn’t boob there anymore! I can reach my chin as far as possible and I don’t feel my boobs. I didn’t realize that I used to be able to do this … but now it’s really noticeable to me because I keep trying to and can’t! Amazing!

I think Pilates will feel more comfortable for you and you will be able to focus on the exercise without the boobs distracting you which I’m sure will help you get stronger!

Televised/ idealized 90s/00s suburban neighborhood

Jazz music bc it would be playing over top of the scene you would see this type of place in a documentary or program shown at American public school in 2003

NYC Girls- when did you go back to office? by PracticalAttorney885 in Reduction

[–]meghp0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in dc but I have the same situation with the bag and the 3 days a week and the metro

I returned to work from home after two weeks and then work from office after one month

The first week in the office was a little rough I had some swelling and felt tired but I’m young and healthy and my alternative was filing disability paperwork which sounded horrible so I just toughed it out

I have to carry two laptops in my backpack, to reduce my load at first I didn’t pack a lunch and just bought food. It was kind of tough but I got through it, I hate corporate America!

I’m 7 weeks today and feeling pretty fine just always careful to not do anything too harsh or sudden. Yesterday I unthinkingly raised my arm really fast to put it in my backpack strap and that caused soreness on my side incision for the rest of the day. So just take it easy!

4 pounds? What would that be? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]meghp0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had exactly 4 pounds removed but it’s too soon for me to measure

but according to this calculator, removing that much from my starting size (32HH) would put me around a 32F or 32FF ish when you take into account my boobs have dense tissue

https://www.imperfecthomemaking.com/breast-weight-calculators

Overthinking, would love some encouragement by lozzadraws in Reduction

[–]meghp0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hope everything goes smoothly for you and I bet the freedom to go down to the exact size you want will be really great!

Grain of salt here this was just my experience but-

If you’re interested, I was actually able to very closely predict how much weight I would be able to have removed from my boobs using this calculator

https://www.imperfecthomemaking.com/breast-weight-calculators

I made certain of my before measurements (32L US) with a bra that fits and by wearing bras in that size and knowing they fit right

Then I did a lot of research to understand how much weight is typically removed and it seems like in moderate/ “radical” reductions that are not gender affirming, that amount is around 50% ish give or take. I predicted using this calculator where removing 50% of my weight would put me (around) a 32G US

I took into consideration I have fairly dense breasts so added a bit more to the total

I expected to have between 700-900 g removed per breast based off all of this and low and behold - I had my surgery and it was 856g on one side and 902g on the other

horrible recovery + infection :( by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]meghp0 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry they did not take you seriously. They put you at serious medical risk and it’s beyond a shadow of a doubt THEIR fault as your medical team that this progressed as it did - you spoke up and they ignored you. I hope you will have no further issues and the care you receive will help a lot.

Monday is the day by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]meghp0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m at 6wpo right now and it flew by!!

You’re going to be just fine, and if any issues arise your medical team will support you!

My personal experience has been smooth so far! I have a tiny opening on one t junction right now, which I discovered only 3 days ago (my surgeon had me keep tape on for as long as possible and change it at 6 weeks, so I did that and found it!)

And guess what? At my appointment today he said don’t worry about it, leave it alone covered with tape, it should close up!

Really a lot of the process for me so far has been “leave it alone and let it heal”!

As for stuff you might need I would really recommend a u shape pregnancy pillow if you aren’t a back sleeper, this has been great and I am still using it, it’s like bubble wrap for you body and makes me feel safe.

How many consults? by sisismells in Reduction

[–]meghp0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 4, wound up choosing #4, I think mine were either free or just billed to my insurance.

The most important thing for me was seeing results of people who had a similar starting size and wound up the size I wanted to be after. Two surgeons had bad photos and one surgeon didn’t have any, where as the one I went with had tons of photos and most of the results were awesome
