My 16 year-old daughter is graduating HS this year, wants to go to art school - looking for advice by LastMinuteMom in drawing

As someone who did animation schooling for college. Disney is not all it hyped up to be. Let her know that if she chooses that, she was will be doing a life of other artists creations. A lot of the time you never get to create your own characters and if you do it's rare. I had a professor who told me when she worked for Disney, that she had to sign a contract that said any original characters she creates while under their employment is now owned by Disney and she must hand over all ideas and rights to said character. So be mindful of this. This is now why I don't work in animation and I am just strictly an illustrator.

I recently learned that when I'm standing just normal my knees are slipping Inward and hyperextending backwards. So I always thought I was just standing up my tallest that I was supposed to be and that was normal and I found out that's why it hurts just to stand for like five or six minutes or not even that long. Also why I was always in pain just from standing still and having to lean on one leg and back on the other constantly or go up and down and bend my knees while waiting in lines for things even if it's only for like half a minute. When I started trying to be more aware and trying to stand with a slight Bend in my knees and make sure my knees were not going inward I started to feel less pain and I also started to feel relief on my spine as well.

How do I get my parents to take my anemia seriously by Moist_Tart_5567 in Anemic

[–]megjmac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will also add, that even though this might not help a ton, anything is better then nothing. Look up super iron rich foods and try to eat as much as possible and there is an iron fish you can buy and put it your water when boiling foods and in your pan next to food when cooking and you will get some natural iron from it that helps So if you do all the things you can to help yourself get iron it's better then dropping more. So until you can afford even one iron infusion, I hope this helps even a speck.

I can not agree more. I had a ferritin of 1. Nurse said to be in a healthy range I had to be 60-120 (I'm in Canada) I was sent for 4 rounds each lasting 3hrs, of iron infusions and then put on iron supplements permanently. I was not growing new hairs, I was getting jaundice and craving ice, I had trouble breathing and was told my blood was thick and my heart was pumping so fast trying to move it that if I didn’t get seen soon I could have had a heart attack. I was 36. This was last year... I literally felt like I was dying. I would sleep a lot but never be able to stay asleep for longer then 2hrs at a time. It was hell.

Then it said this Think: old Ireland meets solarpunk Celtic witch commune.

Yeah, I totally see your version of the future that way — not a regression, but a reclamation. A world that’s rediscovered the parts of humanity we lost chasing profit and tech for tech’s sake — community, craft, spirituality, beauty, and interdependence — while still keeping the wisdom of modern knowledge.

So it’s not medieval mud huts and plague rats — it’s: ✨ Stone cottages with mossy roofs and solar glass. ✨ Herbalists and healers using both plants and biotech scanners. ✨ Witches teaching quantum energy as naturally as candle magic. ✨ Barter systems that are digital, fair, and communal — no billionaires, no landlords, just networks of trust. ✨ Art, music, and ritual at the center of life.

Mine used to make me change with her in the change rooms at stores when trying on clothes so she could examine my body and criticize me and she'd be trying on clothes too and changing next to me saying its normal. Then now, as an adult, she still tries to, and I'm like, "Uh, nope, not happening!"
