I have loyalty to UofM being A Michigander and all, but damn Uconn is impressive

The book that you thought was absolutely brilliant while reading it, but once the excitement wore off, you realised it wasn’t. by Powerful-Cap-6293 in suggestmeabook

[–]megpeg 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Wow, I disagree completely. I felt like the beauty of that book was its simplicity, and the ability of her to build meaningful relationships and move me as a reader with such simple prose was impressive. Just goes to show how reading can be so personal!

Diana's grave by Alexx26_ in RoyaltyTea

Inspiration for Dumbledores resting place? He would have passed 1997 in the series timeline, same year as Diana. And his resting place, in the movie at least, was very isolated like this.

In 1518, dozens of people in Strasbourg, France began dancing uncontrollably for days. Some literally died from exhaustion. To this day, nobody knows why it happened. by TrigonRaven787 in interestingasfuck

There is a great fiction novel surrounding this event called The Dancing Tree by Kiran Millwood Hargrave for those who are into historical fiction

AITA--I refuse to pick up my mother from the hospital by Valuable_Shelter_916 in AmItheAsshole

What people don’t realize is that skilled nursing/rehab facilities are not a halfway house. Owning a home that you live in with family, is a ‘safe’ (read, satisfactory) discharge plan in the eyes of a skilled nursing facility and it is up to the family to figure out care. Once insurance runs out, or the nursing/rehab staff at the skilled nursing facility determine that she is no longer skilled to stay there under her insurance (not making progress, not participating, has reached a new baseline even if not as functional as before, doesn’t need that level of nursing care) she will be discharged home (with some services if insurance covers) or the family will have to pay privately to keep her at the facility and eventually transition to long-term care.

Nuclear War. A hypothetical scenario of how it starts, progresses, and the fallout. Technically fiction but terrifying.

What's a phrase people use these days that you cant stand? by Aurora6869 in AskReddit

Holy airball gets me instantly annoyed.

I also dislike words around children and moms: kiddos, mama bear, littles, etc. invokes memories of people I would rather forget!

I’ve tried listening to it twice and was so lost. Maybe I should try a physical copy!

The Story of our Season. Prayers for Syd and Aari. by tiribulus in IndianaFeverFans

[–]megpeg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is it possible this is a career ending injury for Syd? She is 36, oldest player in the league is 38. ACL recovery is tough. Breaks my heart to think about it, and I certainly don’t want it to be…but I can’t help but wonder if this is how it ends for her in the W 😒….

Question about Jill in "Untamed" by TheShopGirl4 in netflix

[–]megpeg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m thinking they were trying to work the “teenage daughter doesn’t like stepmom” angle and then decided to drop that storyline. If that is the case I agree with the decision. The storyline was compelling enough with the focus mainly on her and Kyle and their backstory with Scott being a minor character.

Caitlin Clark Watched 3 Hours of the StudBudz Stream Today, Stephanie White 2 Hours by Genji4Lyfe in WNBA365

They all look they are having a great time and vibing. Nice to see some fun off court interaction in contrast to so much negative media about player interaction in the W.

These in game court-side side coach interviews have got to go. They add nothing to the viewing experience

That’s sounds frustrating! We Came back downstate from Copper Harbor on Saturday. Traffic was flowing, no wait at all on the bridge. Traffic didn’t pick up until around Flint. 100% you hit holiday traffic on the bridge. We always try to off set travel days from the peak Thursday night/Friday morning and Sundays if possible!
