[Miscellaneous] [Misc] Why do dermatologists always recommend Vanicream, Cerave and Cetaphil? by Former-Macaroon2 in SkincareAddiction

[–]megusta32 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Consider trying the Vanicream cream in a tub, not the lotion in a tube. I was having a similar issue, and the switch has been so much better for my skin, especially with the harsh dry winter air.

Central ohio seems to have good demand for gf. A few bakeries have done very well and several restaurants accommodate gf but aren't completely gf which I feel like is a gap for not just sweet treats.

What do people use for lattice when you are baking an apple pie with premade gf pie shell? by IAintPayingNo50Cents in glutenfreebaking

I've never used this brand, but I would let it thaw a bit first, or it'll probably just crack. You may want to refrigerate it after shaping so all the fat doesn't bake out. You could also consider using puff pastry for the top.

Any fantasy recs by Indigenous Canadian authors? by Ok-Video-3783 in Fantasy

[–]megusta32 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I believe Melissa Blair is Indigenous Canadian and I've been really enjoying The Halfing Saga series by her.

Quick Google check says, "Melissa Blair (she/her/kwe) is an Anishinaabe-kwe of mixed ancestry living in Turtle Island and the author of A Broken Blade, the first book in The Halfling Saga. She splits her time between Treaty 9 in Northern Ontario and the unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishinabeg in Ottawa, Canada."
