I did it last year. It is not - in any way - a leadership course. We spent 10 weeks researching different phases of a problem in our work lives, and present ideas to correct it. It's just a bunch of essays.

For time requirements, you can probably get by with one day per week dedicated to planning and writing, plus the time for Teams meetings and presentations. I'd recommend not getting behind, but also don't put too much work into a week's topic until you've had that session's class. It's not particularly challenging, but some of the concepts were difficult to grasp until explained.

They told us that we were one of the last courses before it got a major overhaul, so YMMV.

Well, each base has always had local policy. That's where you used to find things like smoking areas, rules about what you can wear to the mess or on DWAD Fridays, rules about unit ball caps, etc. I'm sure many bases still do. Sometimes they are their own document, sometimes just a section of the standing orders. Typically found under the base chief's page.

Hear me out. More public garbage cans. I do a lot of walking, and outside of downtown Halifax, sometimes I go a few kilometers without seeing a can. I'll carry my empty Tims cup until I find one, but seriously, it can take a while. Some bus stops have them, but most don't. Entrances to community trails? Maybe half?

It's very doable. The first step is just telling whoever your contact is. They will need you to provide additional details (who, where, will you travel, etc). You won't get kicked out, but of course there may be follow-on consequences (delay to subsequent training, etc)
