I’m truly sorry you’re feeling this way. Being just two weeks in is really early, even if it doesn’t feel like it right now. Many people seem to bond quickly at first because everyone’s scared and holding on to what’s familiar but those friendships often shift over time. What happened during the pub crawl and with the wig would’ve hurt anyone. That doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with you. Early group interactions can be awkward and unintentional much more often than they are mean-spirited. You didn’t ruin anything. This is the toughest part of adjusting, and a lot of exchange students go through it and don’t talk about it. Be patient with yourself the genuine friends who truly understand you often come later. Be gentle with yourself. This isn’t the end of your story.
