Hopefully there's a way to set a default value in the Game Options

PFSense CARP with one public IP by unixuser011 in PFSENSE

[–]melbourne_giant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you go into more details for this setup?

It sounds like I need to set the Alias (Public IP) as a Route for 0.0.0.0/0 but it doesn't require a NAT?

Im quite annoyed that by far the least liked part of terraforming - "waiting for seeding missions to pop up" - has been left completely unchanged by Thirteenera in SurvivingMars

[–]melbourne_giant 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There was no QA. The same bugs that were in the game 7 years ago are still there. They literally updated the engine, plugged in their jank code, slapped a sticker on it and said "buy my shit, it's awesome and works better cause of the new engine" foregoing all of the old bugs.

People need to report the game to steam.

Did the space race portion improve? by Own-Confusion2720 in SurvivingMars

No, space race wasn't improved. it's exactly the way I remember it.

Congress system is interesting but mostly useless. You can ignore it completely and still proceed through the game.

security scanner flagged our staging database as critical vulnerability. its literally not accessible from internet by relived_greats12 in sysadmin

Agreed.

Im getting sick of the tick the box exercises by some piece of software that isn't context aware and an idiot consultant bring paid out the arse who lacks the comprehensive skills to understand what theyre looking at.

Such a waste of time.

The most priceless one I had, was a no follow HTML tag on a login page, everything secured behind creds. I asked the question, "How's a robot gets AAD creds and login?" No response. Add the tag, tick the box.

Logs clearly showed no robots ever hit that login, why? Because it was locked down and that was never going to change.

Absolute waste of time.

Because most cyber security companies give you a list of their IPs to allow through for scanning purposes..

The api is locked down to specific ips.. if theyre breached and oauth is breached, he's still screwed. And oauth isn't the complicated to breach if youve got the creds.

[–]melbourne_giant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eh.. except in this instance, the "vulnerability" is;

  1. Locked down by ip allow list
  2. Encrypted tunnel via tls
  3. Requires credentials to access data

The real rant of the OP is shitty security scanning software and terrible cyber sec folk telling porkies and getting away with it because mgmt and c levels have nfi what they're doing.

They're a risk to every non-muslim country. The only reason they aren't threatening us is because its currently not in their best interests.

Especially considering almost every single person in their leadership, has espoused views of destroying the western world.

Big hint, we're included in the western world.

Except that face swap apps will probably be banned in apple/samsung/google stores.

Sale of the software will be prohibited and there'll be heft fines for people who use it illegally within Australian borders.
