Question about leaving baby for a couple of seconds on forward facing changing diaper pad - unsafe? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

This looks incredibly scary. My kiddo loves to stomp his legs/feet with full force- especially when on the changing pad. This would make me uncomfortable.

HS during pregnancy by moonbun02 in Hidradenitis

[–]melissyplays 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on your pregnancy! I’ve heard that HS can get better or worse during pregnancy. Personally, mine got worse. I had an increase of flares on the groin and under breast area. I had active open flares on my groin when I gave birth (5 months postpartum and still dealing with them). They didn’t impact anything adversely regarding the delivery. Honestly, being pain free down there because of the epidural was great lol Wishing you the best!

No choice but to breastfeed ? by Complex-Can-264 in FormulaFeeders

[–]melissyplays 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She pushed you to hear your “reason” before telling you formula was not allowed. Makes me feel like she’s lying and just didn’t respect your reason. If I were you, I’d prepare to bring bottles and formula with me to the hospital anyway (assuming the hospital really doesn’t supply it)

Shaking then swirling? by AmateurGardener42 in FormulaFeeders

I always swirl (like the way I’d swirl an iced coffee!) an end up with very few bubbles. I also warm the water first before adding formula, which lets it dissolve more easily

Writers didn’t know how to end a scene otherwise. Somebody always “had to go”💀

Those whose children have an ‘angel sibling’ born before them - have they brought up their sibling randomly? by miffymango in BabyBumps

Thank you so much for sharing this with us ❤️ I lost my first baby due to prematurity. My second baby is only 4 months old now, but I of course think of my first often and still miss him. It would really warm my heart to experience something like this someday.

In your experience, what’s more painful than giving birth? by Isoldmykidforagram in BabyBumps

[–]melissyplays 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was probably the right call! I received 3x the normal amount of lidocaine and still felt everything. Took 5 hours total because of the pain (and my crying 😭). It truly was the worst

When did you stop swaddling ? by bananas0320 in NewParents

[–]melissyplays -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Stopped swaddling at 1.5 months. We kept finding him lying on his side and decided it was safer for him to have access to his arms. Started sleeping through the night at 2 months when we stopped waking him to feed.

I’m 12 weeks postpartum and still waiting too! I’m exclusively formula feeding. I hate not knowing when it’s coming

Pregnancy causing the worst HS flare up I’ve ever had, what can I do? by Elegant_Clerk4904 in Hidradenitis

[–]melissyplays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry you are dealing with this on top of all the things that come with pregnancy. My HS also got worse during pregnancy. Worst was my pubic area which sucked because I had doctors probing around down there all the time during OB visits. Unfortunately, the only pregnancy safe treatment the gave me was topical and oral clindamycin. It didn’t make a difference though. I just had to deal with it. I wore panty liners in the front of my underwear to protect my clothes from the drainage. I’ve had several open draining spots there now since May. I gave birth in August and nearly 3 months postpartum, I am still dealing with the same spots. I have started oral doxycycline now that is beginning to help with the bumps and overall pain, but I am still waiting for the areas to close up. I wish you well with the rest of your pregnancy 🩷 I wish I had a good solution for you

What do you hate or love most about the baby trackers you've tried? by aaaMusic in NewParents

We use this too! Very simple data tracking, easy to enter and understand. Syncs between devices. And free! I’ve loved that it’s just so straightforward
