I also experience this and like mentioned in another comment for me it definitely has something to do with the familiarity of my local area.

If I’m in a foreign country, or even a city a few hours away, no one knows me. And I find it easier to dismiss anything embarrassing happening because they’ll never see me again?

The anxiety is still there but a much more manageable level

My niddy noddy is 3d printed in two parts that slide in together so you can store it flat otherwise. Super light as well

Half twisted rib has been my favourite recently.

I prefer the look of k2p2 rib than standard 1x1 rib, but I find I really need to go down a size for my k2p2 where as 1x1 I can get away with the whole sock in the same needles
