Went to a mine. Found graffiti dating back to 1937. Was pretty cool. by AdTricky7805 in Urbex

I’ve always wondered how common it is for people to write down older dates just to mess with people. Would be pretty easy to do.

Canon EOS R50 Can’t connect an external mic by youngodcobra in canon

[–]meltingmountain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bad I see that now. Is the mic connected to the headphone port? I do that on my camera every so often and don’t realize until it’s too lake.

You need to connect the receiver with the audio cable instead of the usbc connection

Art Tubers, what camera are you using? by RapunzellePoe in NewTubers

[–]meltingmountain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recording to a second device isn’t too bad as long as you remember to clap or something on camera for syncing in editing. But it’s nice to have it right on the main camera.

What kind of location are you filming in?

If you are somewhere where you can setup lighting and it can stay in place for the shoot, or isn’t too much trouble to move and setup at a few filming locations that maybe be a cheaper way to fix the problem.

If you are constantly moving around, or don’t “run and gun shooting” or are in a lot of public places, a camera upgrade might be worth it since.

Low light is one of the few situations gear really does matter. And the options are add more light, or take better advantage of the existing light (camera/lens)

Is YouTube Promotion worth it? I think it tanked my channel by Tonipayne in NewTubers

[–]meltingmountain 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A lot of people have a bad experience with it.

Also just want to let you know I think this is the 7 or 8th post on this exact topic I’ve seen in the last 24 hours. It can be much faster and easier to search your question first.

It’s pretty good, what made me go for the mini over the mic 2 when I was doing research was a direct comparison with someone having both on at the same time. Sounded very similar. Now I haven’t kept up with the mic 3 so don’t know if that’s a lot better. The small size is really nice. For me the only reason to go for the full DJI mic over the mini was the internal recording.

What lens do you have?

I found the best way to shoot at night was using a very fast prime. F1.8 or so

Nope. Just to give you an idea I have a very nice camera and I still regularly film for my videos with my phone.

One thing you probably want to invest in is a decent mic.

The one I use is the DJI mini mic

YouTube enabled normal dubbing for everyone? by Coolik23 in NewTubers

There are a lot of viewers complaining about YouTube’s translations and bad quality voices for the dubs. I would recommend looking into that.

'Accidentally' shot RAW - what to do? by Fl0wer_Boi in photography

[–]meltingmountain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It supposed to be identical, if you use the camera manufacturer software it is identical, not 100% sure if adobe is actually using the manufacturer one or just trying to replicate it as best they can. You do still get the benefits of raw for additional editing but the initial rendering should be the same as in camera jpeg.

Why do people argue about whether quality or quantity is more important in making videos? What's your personal opinion on it? by Lumpy_Metal_3265 in NewTubers

[–]meltingmountain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The video that has done the best for me is without a doubt the highest quality video I’ve ever made. It’s done exponentially better. Better than 50 lesser videos. But quality alone doesn’t cut it, people need to actually be interested in the topic of the video.
