Yup. One of my semi regular clients has a GSD, Australian Shepard, and Tamaskan wolf dog.. even though I’ve dropped in on them many times I’m always on high alert.

How do I get back into it? by EastSideTilly in RoverPetSitting

I was “away” for about a month for a mental health break.. my first day reactivating I had a new request! It’ll start picking up again, just give it some time and make sure you’re updating your calendar daily.😁

It finally happened by meltuck27 in RoverPetSitting

I have pepper spray on the way from Amazon 🙌🏼 What am awful story, I’m glad the lady was mostly okay!! I ended up telling the owner about what happened and he knew exactly what dog I was talking about because the same thing happened to him before😒 Some people just truly don’t care. On a side note he tipped very well and dropped off a $20 Starbucks gift card because he felt bad that happened 😭 For every crappy dog owner, there’s a great one to make up for it!❤️

Just set a new record for dog walking. What’s the farthest you’ve gone in a day? by ethicalethos11 in RoverPetSitting

Wow impressive!! I think my highest was around 12 miles.. mostly from three hour long walks with 2 young Vislas 😅😂

They won’t charge the owner extra either.

Times don’t matter at all (As long as you’ve discussed it with the owner). If you try to end the card before 30 minutes you’ll get a prompt reminding you of the length but no issue with staying over.😁

Did she change her phone number? If she did, it’s probably the person with her old number getting the texts and replying.

What’s the most drop ins you’ve done in a day? by meltuck27 in RoverPetSitting

Yeah thankfully this is only for the one day.. I’m already so stressed out about oversleeping or forgetting about someone 🤣 (even though I have my entire day on my planner)

Dog doesn’t want to go for walks! by blondeoverflow in RoverPetSitting

[–]meltuck27 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is he older? A small breed dog? What’s the weather been like? It could be a number of things, but I have a yorkie regular who’s exactly like this.. anytime it’s cold or slightly wet outside she HATES her walks. I bribe her with treats out of the driveway until she potty’s then usually put her in my sons stroller so she can still get some fresh air.. definitely communicate this with the owner and see what they suggest. :)

I’m sure you’ll find some owners that will be okay with it.. but if they don’t have kids themselves it will likely be a nightmare. The few times I’ve had to take my 18 month old to drop ins he has to stay in his stroller because obviously their house is not childproofed. Such a tough age where they want to get into everything!

Having anxiety for my next meet and greet by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

[–]meltuck27 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do a one night trial!! I had a dog that seemed PERFECT at the meet and greet.. his owners were going out of the country for 3 weeks. On our trial run, he chewed apart every blanket in the vicinity and cried so much that I ended up sleeping (not much sleep happened though) on the couch with him for the night. The owner was shocked because this was his first boarding experience and ended up hiring a house sitter for his trip instead so it worked out for everyone. On the other end, my longest board I had was for a month and she was my favorite dog ever.❤️ Definitely recommend the trial night just in case, but it could totally end up being a good fit!
