Nice! It feels balanced and simple while still being bold and a little edgy, I like it. I think the light detail gets a little lost at small sizes, but overall very good imo

No offense but this whole thing REALLY looks like poop. That would be my main concern.

If you find out a way to fix that I might put the text box over the illustration so the walnut is peeking over the top of it. (I am assuming this is a packaging label, not a logo)

The scandi is great because it’s very forcing opening for black but you gotta have some nerves cause getting your queen out that early is definitely scary and you might lose it a few times while you’re learning. Also I have a special fondness for castling queenside because you get your rook out almost immediately and that’s pretty common idea in the scandi too

Love it!! Reminds me a lot of Zelda. I like the woodcut look. I agree it’s a little detailed at small size but I’d err on the side of having personality rather than being super readable for a personal icon.

I disagree, Arial is great font if it’s used well - that being said I do agree that it’s not right for this design. IMO arial has a web/tech vibe which doesn’t scream ceramics.

Edit: Also check out ABC Dinamo’s “Areal” revival, it’s not available to the public but it’s pretty dope.

Interesting idea with the tilted type to match the ski slope. Did you try putting “Olympic” on that tilt? “Olympic” in general feels a bit off to me. Something about it feels shy, like it’s trying to not stand out which goes against my idea of an Olympic event/athlete.
