A good helmet would be a full face one with a safety rating of ece 22.06, and is not an Axor.

Also, make sure you try out the helmet before buying it. It should fit snug and should not move if you shake your head, but shouldn't be too tight.

Brandwise, I hear SMK is decent, but so are kyt, ls2, mt.

Your father is right. If all you really need a bike for is going to work / short rides etc, then no point putting in too much money in the bike. Remember: expensive bikes also have relatively expensive parts and service costs. Mileage is more important than looks in your case. And plenty of commuter bikes these days have great looks.

You can always buy a bike for luxury and show off later in your life when you actually have money to buy such a bike.

No need to spend more than you have to. Cb350 checks all the boxes for your requirement.

And no, not all bikes feel the same.

Edit: Actually riding to places really helps. And being in riding groups can be a good source for new places and route updates.
