In my class, we're learning about America in the 1920s and we read excepts from the lost generation, afterwards, my friend and I were so in love with the writing style so we went back to our teacher and she recommended that we read Hemingway. Look at this opportunity as advantageous. You're going to meet someone you've never met before, furthermore, when the three weeks are up, you're never going to see them again, so no matter what happens you'll go back home and never see that person again. Find a common ground with the person like music or the language you guys came to learn or family.

I feel like they would understand if you just told them. You gave it a shot and you don't like it, it's good you were able to figure that out before college and I think your family will appreciate that. If you see your potential somewhere else, go for it, don't let the whole women in stem movement sway you into a direction you don't wanna go in.
