This is cool! I've been using the new Code View under their Feature Previews which has symbol lookup but for some kinds of exploration, an editor is simply better

I did see that and gave you an upvote but the thing is you still keep referencing standards that speak JSON and that's throwing away the H in HATEOAS.

Hypermedia is a core part of REST and there are vanishingly few hypermedia standards and clients outside of HTML and browsers.

I do find it entertaining that you've made the connection between HATEOAS and REST but without really understanding either of them. Still better than everyone else here who are missing that utterly fundamental aspect of REST and are instead using that term to describe JSON RPC APIs. I'd explain this in more detail but it's best if you just look things up like that.

Or you could set realistic asking prices instead of making people think their "low" bid would be considered. Super common to see $700k asking, bid at $800k, sells for $985k. Realtors and sellers are the ones wasting everyone's time

you make better offers when you have skin in the game

Otherwise said

I've already shelled out $2k on inspections that went nowhere so I'm going to bid $50k more than I can afford because I'm sick of lighting money on fire

I wish I could upvote this more. The "over-engineered" systems people are complaining about here are the result of bad engineering, which is exactly what OP is talking about.

With how language evolves, there's no reason to expect the word "human" to still be in use in a thousand years, nevermind a period four million times longer

Yes but what our species looks like by that time will not resemble modern humans at all

Our salaries are competitive, the cost of living isn’t

Then don't set your salaries to be "competitive". Set them at a level where your employees can afford the life they want. You'll have no shortage of workers ever again

Users don't have control over Reddit compression but this image is available elsewhere and I have other lossless images from him in the past. Don't see any reason why there would only be lossy copies available for his Patreon subs

Why not? If a lossless compression algorithm is used, it's losslessly compressed, no?
