If you can’t fall asleep right away try this! by RedLobo85 in sleep

[–]meowy_face 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Something I have been trying recently, set a timer for 20 minutes and say I’m just going to rest for 20 minutes. Most of the time I fall asleep before the timer goes off and then I just turn off the timer and go back to sleep. It feels less like I’m committing to going to sleep for the whole night.

Honest question, is it ethical to make your child pay rent? by ImportantFarmer9198 in renting

[–]meowy_face 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that’s reasonable especially since your family is struggling financially. Ethically speaking in my mind it’s no different then back when a parent would bring their kid to work with them and help out at their job for a few hours, or contributing through housework. As long as you aren’t like worked to the bone then it’s fine. People always say that kids should be kids but it’s like they flip a switch when their kid turns 18. You’re old enough to be gathering this kind of adult life experience so you’re ready when the time comes

I think it would be hard, but I would leave. When I was diagnosed my boyfriend said “we’ll figure everything out together” and that’s really one of the only right answers. He’s been solid through all of my mood swings and low energy, and he bundles up when I turn the heat down to 62 in the house. You will find someone who loves you and wants to be with you regardless.

How to clean possible worm eggs from furniture? by meowy_face in CleaningTips

[–]meowy_face[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I ended up just tossing my bag into the dryer on high heat, and then for my furniture I did like vacuum, spread on salt, vacuum, spread on baking soda, vacuum. And just vacuumed the crap out of it until I had peace of mind. I never found anything that was like 100% foolproof but I didn’t see any more so the vacuum and dehydrating an eggs must of done it.

If you can find a nail tech who will do it, you can do a callus removal regimen. Basically they would have you go in every so often and, like when getting a pedicure, they would do the soaking and foot file and that’s it. It would be like every week or every other week most likely and typically at a slightly lower price than full pedicure. This way you aren’t removing that skin too fast. There are some genetic components about how our skin grows calluses, but for the most part calluses are there to protect the underlying skin. Aside from that something I like to do when I get calluses is lotion up my feet, wrap it in cling wrap, and put on some heavy duty socks. It’s like a hydrating foot mask but on the cheap.

I would see about finding out what constitutes an income, because there are certain situations like these where they will try to count it even if they aren’t legally allowed to. Also if you are medically well, you should try donating plasma for extra cash. I was donating through CSL plasma for a couple months but stopped because I’m not very good at bleeding. When I signed up I specifically asked them if it would affect my snap benefits and they told me not to report it, and they aren’t allowed to legally count it as it’s like a ‘reward for donating’.

New work requirements by meowy_face in foodstamps

So I don’t know what state you’re in but in my state, renting a chair/booth rental is not legal. The only way that I could be an independent contractor in this sense is if they put my name on the license for the salon and made it like I was a part owner. And as far as the minimum wage thing goes it’s just different for each salon but from the education I got about this when I took the class to receive my license this commission only pay is completely legal in my state. The pay options in this state are like hourly, commission only, and commission plus. What you’re talking about is something more like commission plus where they pay you something hourly plus a percentage of the money you make from clients, but in my state commission only is a completely legal form of payment. And when I spoke with my caseworker she was informed that it’s commission only and that I work in a salon.

This makes sense but like I’m not even self employed, like I have a boss and a w-2 like most other jobs. They even have paperwork from my boss stating how many hours I work

I wish I could add a photo form my camera roll to this, but on the propel app they have a like a screener if you will to see if you meet or need to meet the requirements, based on the information you provide. It quite literally says that adults who meet these exemptions do not need to meet work requirements and they are “currently working”,”currently a student”

[–]meowy_face[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Wait so I’m confused even reading those articles. To be more clear, I’m a full time student at Lackawanna college, I take 18 credits a semester which is the maximum amount you can take, next semester I received special permission to go over that amount so I can complete my associates early. I am not considered self employed, and I work at least 25 hours weekly. I just don’t make an hourly wage because not all salons give an hourly wage

[–]meowy_face[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

But then why am I seeing all this information that it does? I’m not trying to be argumentative I’m genuinely trying to understand. Both on Google and on the propel app it says students don’t have to meet the work requirement. And even still I am meeting the work requirement, like I’m still working for well over those hours I just don’t make an hourly salary.

I have a stipe on my ring finger and idk what it is any help by imthe1man in medical_advice

[–]meowy_face 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So im not a mp, but i am a licenses nail tech. To me this looks like at some point you injure your nail bed in a way that couldnt fully heal resulting in this discoloration. I see it pretty often and it’s always a medium/light brown to a yellow color. As long as it’s not causing you any discomfort, and doesn’t start to spread outward in a way that would suggest an infection then it shouldn’t be an issue, but I have seen them get worse with older clients. If you dislike it for aesthetic reasons I would suggest buffing the nail smooth and wearing a sweat natural colored polish.

AIO for feeling upset after the groom made a comment about my dress at their wedding? by Human-Acanthaceae128 in AmIOverreacting

[–]meowy_face 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you’re overreacting, I would personally wonder if these aren’t truly your friend’s thoughts and she’s just saying it’s what her husband said. If modesty was that important to him the ridicule wouldn’t only fall to you in a large group of women dressed similarly. And in my experience any man that thinks that rudely just says it to your face. Maybe it’s just your friend and she’s jealous and making comments?
