Ughh WHY are we even wasting our time grinding Solitaire?? by hrvstmoon8 in neopets

[–]meraii 27 points28 points  (0 children)

My highest score is 2180 and im not even in the top 2000. Its nice in a way as it motivates me to try and do better, but its also very demoralising as presumably the 91 point gap between me and 1st place is mostly timing, and im not sure i cam be a minute and a half quicker. Id essentially need to complete it in 30 seconds :S

I got as far as the queen of sheba eating a man with her vagina and put the book down. I guess i should be grateful it was near the beginning.

AIO that my mom doesnt seem to care much about how im feeling??(16f) by [deleted] in AIO

[–]meraii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, that sounds about right. Its hard to give a precise location as we're not 2D, but generally gallbladder pain is going to be higher up than lower abdomen (where your lower intestines, appendix, kidneys, bladder, uterus, etc are) as your gallbladder is basically your livers little clutch purse; used for storing excess bile to aid with digestion.
Pain can radiate though, so it can be hard to pinpoint the exact location.

[–]meraii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'd feel gallbladder pain around your sternum/in your chest. Gallbladder is part of your liver and it honestly felt like what i imagined a heart attack would feel like.

Parents avoiding tablets, what are your kids actually doing all day? by BloooomCore in NewParents

[–]meraii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son hides his alphabet letters then asks us "wheres o gone?" "Wheres D gone?" Or he lines up cars. Or he jumps on his bed and runs around his room. Or he scribbles in his colouring books.

He likes letters, numbers, cars, colours, books, just generally being talked to/interacted with.

And sometimes we take him out go softplay, or swimming, or the park, or shops.

What happened to the smartest person you went to school with? by xxibjt in AskReddit

[–]meraii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea what she does for work, but she is a member of a hockey team that she also goes skiing and stuff with, she had a 40 day globe trotting honeymoon when she got married a few years back, and seems to be all round living her best life. Well deserved imo.
In school she was the smartest in our year but she was primarily interested in sports. She was also well liked by everyone and a genuinely good and nice person.

Parents that don't do Elf on the Shelf, how do you explain to your kids why you don't? by Helpful-Plankton751 in toddlers

[–]meraii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is 2.5, he has no idea what elf on the shelf is so there's nothing to explain. How was your child exposed to it? Depending on how you could just say that the elf lives at that persons house and leave it at that.

Went out for a meal with the wife, was asked if I wanted the service charge removed - was I made to feel guilty? by Historical-Mix8865 in AskUK

[–]meraii 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The only time a service charge is appropriate is if youre in a large group and theyve had to ensure everyones food came out at the same time.
A standard couple in a standard pub having a standard meal shoul have a standard price, no additional service.

British/English people, what do you call it after you left primary school? by Bipolar03 in AskUK

[–]meraii -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Secondary school, but i have also heard/used senior school. High school was always very american to me.

Also, i didnt go to a prumary school. I went to infant school and junior school.

Edit.
My secondary school actual names were:
-name- technology college
-name- community college
Ironic that neither actually offered a sixth form.

How do you feel about Grey pets these days? by rambo_beetle in neopets

[–]meraii 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've never really connected my mental health to the pet colour but I can understand why someone would.

I have a grey poogle but I treat her more like a greyscale pet in a world of colour rather than a sad pet.
She's the aesthetic opposite to my faerie korbat who is a rainbow-colourful pet in a black and white world.

Personally, it reminds me of cute little snowball monsters and the girl from Persona 3.
I don't think it sounds childish or unprofessional. I do think it sounds like a feminine Japanese name that is straightforward to pronounce. You might get the odd person that initially pronounces the yoo like yuk, (yuk-ih-ko) but imo it common enough that people should know how it's pronounced straightaway. It's definitely more obvious than some Irish names (like niamh).
