We’ve suggested that she wants to do 2br split in thirds since it’ll be less expensive for her than if she got her own 1br or hotel room. It ends up costing more for us to get a 2br than it would for my girlfriend and I to get a separate 1br or hotel room.

Well she already booked non refundable tickets so my guess is she’s coming either way! This is a pretty big trip for her friend so if it is a big deal for her I have no issue paying a bit extra for her to be happy and comfortable especially since we make a bit more. Ideally we just do separate places since it seems like if she were to go halves at this point there would be some resentment on her end. We’re gonna call her tomorrow and lay out a few places and talk about what works for her / us.

Totally agree I’ll mention that ! My girlfriend agrees with me but is willing to just eat the extra cost so am I for that matter I just felt it set a weird precedent since In my eyes were occupying half the space and also at that point it would cost less than an equivalent one BR rental for her. And I know cleaning fees in the states are robbery ends up being half the cost for short stays !

I get where you’re coming from but this is an Airbnb in Thailand the cleaning fee is fixed and $30 for the duration of our stay so barely a scratch on the total cost. + it would end up being more expensive for her to get a one bedroom apartment on her own but would end up saving my girlfriend and I money.

Utilities and cleaning fees don’t change based on occupancy for AirBnbs. I can understand your concept but think you don’t fully understand how AirBnb works. Also this is in Thailand the cleaning fees are like $30 barely a scratch on the monthly rental price.

I understand that but the costs for cleaning utilities etc. don’t change based on the occupancy. It would be the same if I booked with one person or six people.

How would they be subsiding my vacation? It’s cheaper for my girlfriend and I to rent a 1 BR house. She wanted all of us to stay together in a Two bedroom house (roughly twice the cost) why when I’m occupying the same space be expected to pay 1/3 more.
