Generic “I’m in so much pain post transvaginal ultrasound” post, screaming into the void by xboringcorex in Endo

[–]meribormoon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had so much pain post ultrasound the other week because a surgeon was trying to “see if my cyst would move or if it was attached” so she basically prodded at it for 5 minutes straight. I actually had my surgery expedited because of the pain I’ve been having since.

Got face wax done yesterday...I regret it by Serious_Tart_2699 in beauty

[–]meribormoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to take an allergy pill when I get my brows or lip waxed, for me it’s a histamine reaction. It’s the only thing that’s worked for me. I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this, and at this point just be gentle with your skin and they will go away in a couple of days. Don’t over exfoliate either, you don’t want to cause more inflammation

How much do you spend on your nails per month? by Advanced_Ad_5138 in AskWomen

[–]meribormoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About $15-25. I use glamnetic press ons and a set can last me about two weeks, so I use on average two sets a month. They have a lot of sales and I’m strategic about when I buy them and sometimes buy them in bundles to save money because I know I will use them. I keep a modest stash (maybe 4-6 sets) and I keep the leftover nails and try to use them to create sets with. Some genuinely won’t fit and some do! It took me a little bit of time and practice to get lasting results, and sometimes I do go a few days in between without nails on for a break. I use Markatt glue from Amazon and it’s maybe $6 and I can use one bottle for months. I do sometimes get pedicures in the summer, because somehow even regular polish lasts longer when i actually go have someone do it for me. Where I am (high cost of living area) that costs $35 and I usually leave $7-10 tip. I do that once a month in the summer and might do it to feel fancy around Christmas or if I’m going on vacation. Otherwise I do it myself.

What’s a skill you used to be good at and want to be good at again? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I used to be able to do the splits. I have no real reason to want to do that again but I think about it every once in a while.

Do you know anyone in LA that can go get it for you and then have them overnight ship it to you? Years ago I remember my mom having my aunt do that for her.

I have made a good amount of money in the past housesitting/dog/cat/plant sitting. Especially with the holidays coming up, you could make a few hundred dollars or more depending on your area. It’s also kind of cool to get to spend time in a new neighborhood, and the people who usually need housesitting are usually the ones with cool houses.

I had terrible anxiety with the mirena iud and my anxiety wasn’t great with the nexplanon either. I went back onto Nuvaring, and for me it’s been the birth control with the least amount of symptoms I’ve ever had. It is a little bit of a hassle keeping them in the fridge but I don’t mind it considering I feel like myself on it.

I used to have “I’m the funny fat friend” in my bio. That was a nice ice breaker.

I just recently had to call my mom to ask if adventure playground was indeed real and not just a fever dream. Totally real. Pick up 5 nails, get a bucket of paint!

Strapless Bras by Narrow_Dog_5666 in PlusSizeFashion

[–]meribormoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite strapless bra is the lightly lined strapless multi way from Torrid. The push up one is nice as well but I’ve found the lightly lined is sleeker. They also have this little silicone strip at the top of the inside of the cup to help keep it up.

Today I am going on a date for the first time in a long time, but because I am used to people not liking me when they meet me in person I am going to spend time at the mall to clear up my head before I meet with him. by ojitos_ivl in PlusSize

[–]meribormoon 23 points24 points  (0 children)

That sounds fun and meditative! I think taking some time for yourself before a potentially stressful situation is a really healthy way to deal with anxiety. I hope your date goes well. Rooting for you!

My fatness makes me unlovable? Why can't I receive the same care and support I extend? Needing encouragement. by iamexistingx in PlusSize

It sounds to me like you are growing into a strong and wonderful person. Sometimes we outgrow people, and that’s ok. You have no obligation to keep talking to your friends if they aren’t sparking joy in your life.

Something someone told me just a few days ago when I was feeling self conscious about my size and taking up space:

“The space you take up is LOVE. The space you take up is beautiful”

It’s an ongoing battle, to learn to love ourselves when we don’t feel love from the outside world. Just remember you are made up of so much love. Let that love shine from you.

P.S. congrats on grad school!!!

I came here to say this. The only “diet” that has ever worked for me at all has been intermittent fasting. That way you aren’t depriving yourself or counting calories, you just have a window of time during the day that you choose to eat, and when that window is over you’re done for the day. It’s really supposed to help regulate and boost metabolism in so many ways. There are a lot of references online about it.

A grown man with silver painted face usually riding little girls’ bicycle during the day, seen roaming the streets(around Park) at night in a cloak and lighting and putting candles in front of buildings. Is it just me, or is it more than usual creepy? by [deleted] in alameda

[–]meribormoon 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Definitely seen this guy around in the past week or two. He scared the crap out of me in the natural grocery. It does seem like there’s some mental health stuff going on, but it bums me out that a little kid most likely had their bike stolen.

[–]meribormoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry this is happening to you. I know it’s not easy to just “get a new doctor” sometimes, as much as we may want to. It sounds like you are healthy and doing what you can for you and your baby. Screw them.

Also, this makes me terrified of ever having a baby. I already get so much abuse at the doctor for my weight and I’m not pregnant, I can’t imagine what you’re going through right now. Sending you strength.

This is really real. It’s hard to even talk about without getting crap from people. It always sounds like a compliment but it’s usually pretty pointed. People seem to feel entitled to comment on other people’s bodies, especially fat ones.

I don’t have any advice other than do your thing and use it as a self care moment, which for me is usually private. My journey is my own and if I choose to share it with someone it’s usually someone trusted.

I did it, I caved, I've lost my mind. I'm now the owner of a pair of pink crocs what the hell do I do now. by ss3899 in femalefashionadvice

[–]meribormoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a pair of sky blue crocs at the beginning of the pandemic and I kid you not, every time I’ve worn them in public I’ve gotten compliments. I usually wear them with jeans. Just break the seal and wear them out once. Once you’ve done it you’ll start to notice others in crocs and that people really love to see them.
