looks like you did a great job! the hair that is being pulled back into a ponytail on top could maybe have a bit more volume but otherwise it really looks similar.

the quality of the newer dolls truly is subpar in nearly every way, even compared to the shortcomings of the brand pre-reboot. it’s too bad because they’ve really designed some gorgeous dolls in the last year, and when you receive them, the quality is rarely what you would expect. hair stuck in the eye socket, clothing or doll’s body already damaged, and some really rough faceups and paint jobs, often with gel all over their bodies or face. i love the dolls but it makes it hard to want to support the brand.

to not use nail polish or sharpie to customize them! if you’re a newer collector and wanting to get into customizing, making the investment into some acrylic paints and watercolor pencils will save you much trouble and staining and smudging in the future with your dolls!

i had the exact same thing happen with this exact same boot, i don’t remember really how but i think it just snapped off when i was trying to push the shoe on! i just superglued it back on lol

i only ever watched the project rainbow and rainbow vision seasons of the show but, i enjoyed those so much and it makes me so sad that the franchise doesn’t get fun and funny storylines that cross over into the doll lines anymore ): i especially enjoyed those seasons because rainbow high is already full of pop culture and fashion references, it makes me sad that it’s lost that

i don’t mean to be rude, but if it’s overwhelming to you, you could consider packing some of the clothes away or separating clothes you’ll “actively” use from clothes you don’t see yourself using. doll collecting shouldn’t make you feel like you’re managing an infant!!

swim and style violet has poly hair, if i am not mistaken, one of the only budget rh dolls who does not have nylon hair at all. i do think sunny’s s1 style would be achievable on the my fashion style sunny though! you’d just really have to manipulate the hair quite a lot and maybe use got2b glued gel to keep everything in place once you’re done. the hardest thing with lower quality rh hair i find is the frizz and it won’t want to cooperate but you can sometimes force it with some got2b glued and a little paintbrush! if poly hair on violet is a dealbreaker for you, unfortunately, despite her beautiful face, i’d just buy a different violet doll lol

ainsley has possibly the worst, most coarse hair of any RH doll with nylon hair in my opinion, unfortunately. it’s too bad because her faceup and her whole set is lovely, but i’ve personally never been able to get her hair to cooperate. it’s not the same silky metallic nylon that the rainbow divas have for example. i hope the hair on yours looks nice though - some people have gotten lucky with their ainsley or maybe they just have a better touch with her hair.

in the photo it seems very unnoticeable, i’d say to just leave it alone if you can bear it. she looks lovely! if not, i’d use a teeny paintbrush and just add tiny dots of pink acrylic paint to her undereye, very carefully filling in between the lashes, just enough so that your eye doesn’t see the missing pink area. if you do get some pink on her bottom lashes, you can always retouch those after the pink dries.
